Lake Anna Island Rentals

“Overall, we had a great stay and enjoyed the home. Everything was wonderful for the most part; however, we did experience a significant issue upon arrival. The front entrance was heavily infested with wasps, which prevented us from safely entering the home. Unfortunately, one member of our group was stung. We contacted the host for assistance, but it took some time to receive a response, leaving us unable to access the property for approximately an hour. We were initially asked to try removing the wasps ourselves using a kayak paddle, which we did not feel was a safe or appropriate solution given the circumstances. Eventually, we were able to enter through the garage. Aside from this incident, the stay itself was great. We hope the entrance issue is addressed promptly so future guests can arrive and access the home safely.”

“For a family of 4 adults and two small children this was a perfect vacation. The house was roomy and on one level. Kitchen was full of extras (supplies, dishes, equipment). Truly enjoyed coffee on the patio and viewing the lake every morning. The boathouse was a short walk and had lots of float toys AND a refrigerator, which was greatly appreciated. There were two Dollar Generals and a Food Lion nearby. We also visited a brewery, winery and cidery during our stay. Slight downside, the dining room was off-limits and kitchen table is very small, barely big enough for 6. This would be a problem for a larger group. Overall, our family had a wonderful vacation. The kids loved the warm water!”

“This is a beautiful home. It looked cheaply maintained inside as there was trash in the closets, noticeable dirty seating, the wifi didn't work for 24hrs, the refrigerator kept working on and off, and the so called futons are fold out mats on the floor (allergies beware!), a mirror held up by a washcloth, pictures on the floor (both safety hazards), and fresh stains on the bedding and matress covers. Response time was quick but with limited results. The dock and its pool house are beautiful and stocked. This house itself is stunning but not worth the amount I paid. The things wrong overshadowed the true elegance of this lakehouse home. My family and I rent a magnitude of houses and this did not meet my families standards for the 1st time. As an owner of a successful business that works alongside property managers daily, my husband and I expected better cleanliness and adequate bedding. Completely unacceptable and a vacation disappointment.”

“Unfortunately, our stay did not match the listing or the premium price. The rental company was responsive when contacted, but there were too many issues. The biggest concern was the lake access. We understand water depth varies by season and is not fully in the owner’s control. However, this dock is in an objectively shallow part of the lake where you can only walk in waist-deep water. It was not swimmable, even for kids, and not safe for jumping or diving. We rented a boat and went to a nearby cove where the water was deep enough to swim and jump in, so this was specific to this house, not Lake Anna overall. The beach was unusable the first day because construction materials were scattered around. The grill had heavy grease buildup and caught fire multiple times, ruining one dinner. A loud alarm saying “fire alarm” went off overnight due to a low battery, waking the whole house, including small children who could not fall back asleep. And there was a wasp nest in the hot tub.”

“We had a wonderful stay at this home. The dock was a great place to hang out and the lake entry was perfect for kayaks and paddle boards. While the deck furniture could use some updating, everything was as described and we had a wonderful time. There was plenty of inside common area spaces for our large group. We would definitely recommend and would love to stay again!”

“The house is beautiful and well-located. Plenty of space, amazing views, and a private deck with access to the lake. Be aware that you must make your bed upon arrival. They provide blankets and towels but none of them are located in any bedroom. We had a great weekend away.”
