Manager Review

Goldnest's guest rating of 4.72 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

Unfortunately it was very run down, roaches & wig worms were also guest, and stains on walls, smelled like a basement, holes in the walls & ceiling. Pool was mucky water leaves, pine needles and a log. They say cold plunge truly the water was the same temperature as the pool, jets don’t work. People’s belongings were left behind hair ties and du rags.Dirt on the stairs. Microwave was nasty, dust bunnies under everything. Stains in the shower, horrible bathrooms toothpaste stains. Grill had so much grease in it. Outdoor cushions run down. Very dark not as bright as the photos. No broom or mop to clean anything if we wanted. Filter in the fridge is bad. Dishes had soap on them so we had to re wash most only 4 forks. Also spider webs in the kitchen cabinets. There was plenty more I think this property is just for a quick flip they definitely don’t enjoy having guest. Looks nice on pics but not in person. Unfortunately it was no for my family the roaches were bad.

The only reason why we’ve got this house was because of the pool. The pool was in terrible conditions. The pool had green slime inside. The bottom of the pool is in terrible shape. They send someone to clean after our whole day of our stay and they also did a terrible job, leaving everything behind test strips all over the floor. It was a mess. Outside wall decor was falling off remote controls were missing from inside the house.

I've only rented from the owner, not a property management company. I felt a little uneasy after we booked because we were hit with a one-time non-refundable fee and a $450.00 security deposit for damages. We had already paid through Airbnb, and honestly, we have been traveling since June. We needed a centrally located place near the fields, with a pool for our son to train and recover the next day. When we arrived, the house was nothing like what was pictured. The pool was green, and the pump wasn't working; you couldn't see the bottom at all. The couch and carpet were stained and filthy. The counters were sticky, the floors were dirty, the nightstands had stains all over, and the house had a mildew odor. They charge for damages, but the glass on the door wasn't replaced, only glued. When I brought this to their attention, I was thanked for my patience, and they thought $125.00 was reasonable to reimburse me. I had to fight for at least $300 of my nearly $1700.00 payment. Be wary.

We chose this home because it was advertised as a premium property with premium amenities. Unfortunately, our stay was impacted by several significant issues. The hot tub did not work for most of our stay despite repeated troubleshooting and was only repaired on our final day when maintenance was already there for a separate water leak. One bathroom became unusable because of that leak, and despite extensive back-and-forth with the host, we were never able to get the media room’s surround sound working as advertised. Much of our vacation was spent troubleshooting rather than relaxing. More concerning, it has now been two weeks since checkout and, despite almost daily communication, our packages delivered during our stay still have not been returned and our most recent messages have gone unanswered. Overall, the home did not provide the premium experience represented by the listing.

I was never able to check in to this Irving listing with host Tal. We confirmed 8 overnight guests, 2 infants, with daytime visitors, total 14 max, before arrival. On July 3 I requested the entry pin starting at 4:02 PM and never received it. After waiting almost 2 hours with two infants, Airbnb Support could not reach the host and cancelled for host neglect. Airbnb rebooked me to the same listing with Tal, and the same no-code issue happened again. We drove 4.5 hours, ended up with no place to stay, and had to book a hotel an hour away with refrigerated medication at risk. Would not recommend.

This was the worst Airbnb experience I have had in 5 years of being with Airbnb. First we had to wait 3 hrs outside the home after 4pm checkin. The deposit platform was not working and the host would not respond or call after I ask them to call me so we can resolve this issues several times. I had to cancel my prior engagement I had planned because my family and I could not enter the home for 3hrs after check in time. The pool table and workout area is in a barn away from the house. Then the locks were not working on the pool table area, so we were not granted access to this area. My bed was broken from the time I played down to sleep, then in the middle of the night when I moved the bed caved in. I also smelled scents of urine around the house like a dog or something had urinated any different areas throughout the house. I was very displeased with this experience, but the owners did grant me an early release and refund for the days I did not use. So we checked out the next day

My review is not about trying to gain leverage for a larger refund. It is based on the experience we actually had during our stay. We were without running water for an entire day, communication was delayed when we needed assistance most, and there was a complete lack of empathy for how significantly this disrupted our vacation. The refund request was justified because of multiple issues that affected both the safety and quality of the property, including no running water, a fallen tree in the yard, a leaking master bathroom shower head, and a dirty pool. On top of that, the surrounding neighborhood was filled with junk and did not match the expectations set by the listing. What made the situation even more concerning was learning that someone from the neighborhood had deliberately disconnected the property’s main water supply. Rather than recognizing the seriousness of a stranger accessing the property and tampering with essential utilities, your response was simply that the property

The whole check-in process had extra complicated steps that I’ve never had before. They wouldn’t allow early checkin, which has never happened to us before. Then less than hour before our check in, they actually delayed our check in by over 2 hours despite knowing we had 4 young kids waiting to get in the pool. When we tried to contact them, they never called us. We had to call them. The girl on the phone couldn’t speak English well and didn’t have any authority to make decisions or any info for us. We went to the house anyways and watched the “cleaning crew” go in and out of the house way too fast. There’s no way they cleaned that place well. Also the house was not in a nice neighborhood that I felt comfortable in with our family. We ended up back to book a different place through a different host and the cancellation cost us $200!!! Absolutely terrible overall experience.

Unfortunately, this was not a good experience. I traveled from another state and had to wait nearly an hour outside before receiving a response regarding my reservation. Communication from the host was very slow and caused a lot of stress. The host was also very focused on monitoring the number of guests and repeatedly warned that additional charges would apply if any guest visited or stayed longer than allowed. This made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome during my stay. In addition, there were issues with the property, including standing water outside and unpleasant odors. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations, and I would not choose to stay here again.

My family and I rented this property based on the listing, photos, and premium price. Unfortunately, what we encountered upon arrival was a property that appeared to have significant ongoing maintenance issues, poor upkeep, and conditions that did not justify the amount being charged. One of the beds was broken upon arrival and had to be repaired during our stay. The fact that maintenance was immediately sent to address the issue suggests this may have been a known problem before guests checked in. No guest should arrive at a vacation rental and discover that a bed is unusable. The property showed signs of deferred maintenance throughout. The front entry door was heavily weathered and deteriorated. The patio door frame was cracked, split, and damaged. When maintenance arrived, the repair consisted of installing a few screws into the broken frame rather than properly correcting the issue. The grill was heavily rusted and unusable, the jacuzzi was filthy. Future guests should be warned.
