Manager Review

Florida Gulf Coast Getaways

Florida Gulf Coast Getaways's guest rating of 4.79 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The whole stay was great. The place is slightly further from the beach than what I gathered from the pictures but overall great experience. After we checked out, they attempted to charge us almost $500 for animals that were disclosed in my guest list. Once we made the reservation, no one asked me anything about the animals that we were bringing. But somehow it is my fault and now have to pay almost $500 after staying in Florida for a whole week and spending thousands of dollars on the place in the first place. We will never be doing business with this company again. If you can’t ask for the information you need at the beginning of booking, it is not my problem. They’re only out for your money so keep in mind when booking.

i will lay facts bare and let them speak for themself: -you are allotted one (1) 1-ply toilet paper roll per bathroom. -BYO beach towels (at a beach house). -not enough blankets provided for the listed sleeping accommodations. most of the blankets provided are incredibly thin. -we paid $150 to check in two hours early at 3pm. we did not receive our check in instructions until a few minutes AFTER 3pm. -no trash bags provided for main trash (but you are expected to take trash out to the curb).

The house was nice but we had issues with oven didn’t work. They sent a maintenance man over but he knew nothing about the stove so they sent an appliance guy over. He was able to get the oven on and left. The next morning oven would not work, we called again two days later they had a different appliance guy over he determined that it needed to replace a part that he had to order two weeks out. They sent two counter top ovens Thursday evening but we never used. That night the carbon monoxide alarm went off had to get fire department they shut the gas off, no hot water for 21 people until the next day. They tried to make it right but I think they could have done better.

Beautiful views and quiet. Loved how you could walk out from the balcony to the beach access. The rugs needed to be cleaned as they smelled. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets. Other than that, we enjoyed the stay.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful townhome. It was comfortable, well-maintained, and we truly enjoyed our time there. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were greeted by a strong smoky odor throughout the interior, as if a previous guest had burned something in the microwave. The smell had permeated the entire home and was noticeable during our stay. While this didn't ruin our trip, it did take away from an otherwise excellent experience. We hope that if an issue like this presents itself in the future, management will address it promptly rather than allowing an entire day to pass before attempting to resolve it.

The description could use an update. The bedroom and bathroom that was on ground level couldn’t be used due to the heat. The bathroom had no ac and was unbearable. The bedroom has an odor. No one was able to use these rooms. The next level shared a bathroom with 2 bedrooms & main living area. The top level bathroom was connected to the master bedroom & shared with 2 bedrooms. Pool was not cleaned. Some of the electrical outlets didn’t work. One bedroom had a tv but couldn’t be used because there was no way to plus it in. The cord wasn’t long enough to reach the outlet. Refrigerator did not cool very well. For this unit to be described as an updated unit, it was not up to par. Property management needs to do a better job at maintaining the unit.

The condo was OK. The air conditioner gave us issues. The middle level got very, very hot during the first few nights. We set it down to the lowest temperature and it cannot keep up causing uncomfortable sleep situations. I informed the property manager of this and they didn’t tell us someone was coming and HVAC people showed up and helped their self inside while my family was there without even knocking. This happened again while they were checking the propane levels. The propane guy helped himself inside while my family was there and did not let us know they were coming. I would give it a three out of five. Probably won’t stay there again.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and loved the location-right on the strip with lots to do nearby. However, there were a few issues that need attention: one keypad lock was missing a number, the home felt stuffy with a mildew-like smell, the air fryer was rusty, a bathroom door handle was difficult to use, the basement shower head was broken, the master bedroom doorknob fell off, a ceiling fan worked intermittently, and the pool appeared cloudy during our stay. Greg was also very slow to respond at times. If these issues are addressed, we would definitely stay again.

The house has poor foundation built so when you walk up the stairs, it shakes. Night 1 we learned the bed was missing a leg post. Maintenance never responded, sent someone with out notice, forcing us to contact again, not knowing they had sent anyone. Night 2 sheets were unbearable because they are polyester - and we hadn’t learned that there is no AC running to the bedroom. It’s rigged with a dryer duct. Trash in lot. Rude owner. Refuses to give us a partial refund for this experience- oh and I’m about 8 months pregnant.
