Elk Springs Resort's guest rating of 4.62 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“The cabin itself and the views, incredible! The keypad to get in died, a tech was out within 30 mins to fix it. Our check in process on the other hand, was unclear; we received a text the day before to provide an estimated arrival time so we did so. Info provided states check in is 3pm and they would be in touch if it isn’t ready by then. Day of, it was well past 3pm and we hadn’t received a code or any communication that there was a delay. No big deal as we still had about two hours before arrival. We called around 4pm as we were an hour away now. We made better time than estimated. The agent was helpful but informed us that because we selected a 5:30 arrival time, they had just started cleaning the cabin. So just be aware whatever time you select, your cabin won’t be ready until then as that info isn’t stated anywhere. The cleaners didn’t finish our cabin until after 6 (even with 5:30 arrival)and that’s when we finally received our code. After a long day of travel it was frustrating.”airbnb

“Elk Springs was gorgeous, well maintained but a little dated in decor. It wasn’t a big issue but I don’t remember the listing saying that there were no bedrooms on the main floor but 3 are on the lower level, 1 upstairs, and the pullout couch in the game room upstairs. My mother broke her leg a few months ago and the stairs were hard for her some days. Also, check-in is listed as 3 pm but the week leading up to arrival, I received messages saying 3 pm is the target but not guaranteed. When driving from 8 hours away, finding something to do when check-in was delayed and all we wanted was to settle in was kind of a bummer. Other than that, it was peaceful and quiet, what we needed as a home base while exploring the area.”airbnb

“Overall a good stay. The place needed to be cleaned better. As there were cobwebs in the shower. Very dusty and outside area hadn’t been wiped down or cleaned in what seems like months. View isn’t what pictures show as trees have grown up and need trimmed”airbnb

“This place has a stunning view. The house is absolutely beautiful as well. I ended up driving down and never got a response from them once about check in which was stressful. I got there and called customer service finally got everything figured out. They do have well water so the water is stinky… which kinda sucks when ur paying a lot but it is the mountains 🤷🏼♀️. An the shower drain doesn’t drain that well.. there where crumbs on the mattress (under the sheet) when I took the sheet off after staying, an we couldn’t get the lower tv to work.. the upper tv is just cable.. but the hot tub was in an absolute beautiful location to watch the sun come up and see the moon over the mountains at night. It is in a very secluded area about 20 min away from a grocery store. I would stay here again, I’d just wash the sheets first and get groceries first, an bring shower steamers.”airbnb

“We had a good stay, it's a quaint little house right off the Gatlinburg strip, walking distance to town with a lovely view of the pigeon river. We appreciated the layout, the air hockey table, and the great views of the river, but we were disappointed in the lack of privacy and did not realize from the pictures how close you are to the lodge and house right behind you. Communication was also a little clunky, we had a few minor issues and we had been receiving messages via Airbnb and text, but when I reached out, I was told to send an email. One simple form of communication would be best. Lastly, we were a little disappointed in the lack of basic amenities. They were clear upfront these things were not provided, but for the price paid a couple extra rolls of toilet paper, salt shaker, etc would have been nice. Thank you!”airbnb

“Stunning views of the mountains. Would visit again if things favor. Please note that hair dryer, body wash, shampoo, and lotion are not provided as listed.”airbnb

“We had an amazing stay! Beautiful cabin full of amenities. Easy check-in. The threats of fines and other fees posted around the place was excessive, the Dollar Tree silverware was lacking for the price point of the resort, and the stingy lack of soap, shampoo, etc. compared to other stays was laughable... but not enough to subtract a star.”airbnb

“Smelt like storage. Cabin needs maintenance. Will message you about their cabin at least 7-8 times in the 3 days my parents stayed.”airbnb

“Very cozy and comfortable cabin. Very clean besides the deck chairs which we washed off. Enjoyed the views. Hot tub was great. Too cold for the pool but the club house is up high and would be gorgeous in the summer. Very quiet area. Same place for legacy zip lines which I recommend. Walmart delivers groceries here too fyi. We did email Elk Springs customer service the next day after check-in about the water heater and never heard anything back-we were there for 6 nights. The hot water is scalding hot but then only enough for 1 shower. We had 4 people. So there were days without showering/washing hair and taking very quick showers to make it work. I think the cabin says it sleeps 6 people, no where near enough hot water for that. Tried to use the jacuzzi tub, it was cold-not enough hot water. Also the main tv is tiny, we did observe 55’ tvs at Walmart for $200 and 65’ for $300. Would be super easy to upgrade.”airbnb

“We were told about 30 minutes before we arrived that the waterfall wasn't going to be working and couldn't be fixed. This was not a huge deal but it was a reason I chose this pool over others (for my kids). When we checked in the house was spotless. Everything from the couches to the beds were comfortable. The house had everything we needed. We even saw a bear! The downfall was that the main floor bathroom (off the kitchen) smelled sewage for two full days before it was fixed. 3 people came before it was resolved. It was disappointing these two things happened and we still had to pay full price.”airbnb
