Manager Review

Elk Springs Resort

Elk Springs Resort's guest rating of 4.63 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

We enjoyed our honeymoon here! The cabin was a nice size, and the views were great. Unfortunately, we were told there would be a grill, but there wasn’t. We had already bought steaks to cook our first night, so we ended up having to purchase a grill from Walmart. The cabin was also a little dusty, and we found a pillowcase left upstairs by housekeeping. There was dishwasher soap provided, but nothing for the washing machine. Despite these small issues, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again for the location and beautiful views.

it was nice but the pictures made it look bigger than it actually was. Also it said the the bedrooms were all on the main level which wasnt true. Also they were told right after we checked in that the ice maker and TV in the downstairs bedroom weren't working and they just came out and looked at it and never informed us as to what was going to be done just sent a survey over asking how they did. needless to say we didnt have ice the entire stay and no tv in the bedroom which was super annoying when you have a child that sleeps with a tv on.

The cabin is in a great location, very high up. Beautiful views. I enjoyed the stay but was very unsatisfied with the cleanliness. When entering there is a dirty carpet smell that gets worse as you go downstairs. The carpets are very dirty, my family did not take our shoes off inside the entire stay due to the dirty floors. There was a dirty white sock in the main levels bed when we arrived. There were atleast 75 green beads on the floor through out the cabin. My husband stepped on an earring that stuck thru his sandal in the bedroom on the lower floor. There are a lot of dust webs throughout out, balls of dust on the walls. The windows are beautiful but have not been cleaned in some time. There was bird poop all down the windows and the top windows were just dirty and fogged over. Its a beautiful cabin but I feel like the owner does visit often, due to the price they are asking and how dirty the cabin is kept. The carpets need cleaned BAD. Id stay again in the area but not this cabin.

Our stay had both positives and negatives. The home itself was nice, but the experience fell short of what we expected for the price. Check-in was delayed by over two hours because the cleaning crew was still there. During our stay, we received an unexpected maintenance text stating that maintenance had been requested and someone would be entering the property. The problem is that we never requested any maintenance. Receiving a message implying we had initiated a service call was confusing and concerning, especially while staying in the home with our personal belongings inside. Situations like this can leave guests wondering whether someone may enter the property unexpectedly. The grill was dirty with heavy grease buildup, and only one burner worked. There was also trash thrown over the deck railing that should have been cleaned up before our arrival. The property has potential, but better preparation, communication, and attention to detail would make for a much better guest experience

The cabin itself and the views, incredible! The keypad to get in died, a tech was out within 30 mins to fix it. Our check in process on the other hand, was unclear; we received a text the day before to provide an estimated arrival time so we did so. Info provided states check in is 3pm and they would be in touch if it isn’t ready by then. Day of, it was well past 3pm and we hadn’t received a code or any communication that there was a delay. No big deal as we still had about two hours before arrival. We called around 4pm as we were an hour away now. We made better time than estimated. The agent was helpful but informed us that because we selected a 5:30 arrival time, they had just started cleaning the cabin. So just be aware whatever time you select, your cabin won’t be ready until then as that info isn’t stated anywhere. The cleaners didn’t finish our cabin until after 6 (even with 5:30 arrival)and that’s when we finally received our code. After a long day of travel it was frustrating.

Elk Springs was gorgeous, well maintained but a little dated in decor. It wasn’t a big issue but I don’t remember the listing saying that there were no bedrooms on the main floor but 3 are on the lower level, 1 upstairs, and the pullout couch in the game room upstairs. My mother broke her leg a few months ago and the stairs were hard for her some days. Also, check-in is listed as 3 pm but the week leading up to arrival, I received messages saying 3 pm is the target but not guaranteed. When driving from 8 hours away, finding something to do when check-in was delayed and all we wanted was to settle in was kind of a bummer. Other than that, it was peaceful and quiet, what we needed as a home base while exploring the area.

Overall a good stay. The place needed to be cleaned better. As there were cobwebs in the shower. Very dusty and outside area hadn’t been wiped down or cleaned in what seems like months. View isn’t what pictures show as trees have grown up and need trimmed

We had a good stay, it's a quaint little house right off the Gatlinburg strip, walking distance to town with a lovely view of the pigeon river. We appreciated the layout, the air hockey table, and the great views of the river, but we were disappointed in the lack of privacy and did not realize from the pictures how close you are to the lodge and house right behind you. Communication was also a little clunky, we had a few minor issues and we had been receiving messages via Airbnb and text, but when I reached out, I was told to send an email. One simple form of communication would be best. Lastly, we were a little disappointed in the lack of basic amenities. They were clear upfront these things were not provided, but for the price paid a couple extra rolls of toilet paper, salt shaker, etc would have been nice. Thank you!

Smelt like storage. Cabin needs maintenance. Will message you about their cabin at least 7-8 times in the 3 days my parents stayed.

We were told about 30 minutes before we arrived that the waterfall wasn't going to be working and couldn't be fixed. This was not a huge deal but it was a reason I chose this pool over others (for my kids). When we checked in the house was spotless. Everything from the couches to the beds were comfortable. The house had everything we needed. We even saw a bear! The downfall was that the main floor bathroom (off the kitchen) smelled sewage for two full days before it was fixed. 3 people came before it was resolved. It was disappointing these two things happened and we still had to pay full price.
