“We loved this cottage. it was so cute and right in the water; gorgeous sunsets. Outside was beautiful with view of the bay and landscaping. Inside was cozy and comfortable. Close drive to historic downtown Cape Charles with lots of restaurants, shops and a beach. This was the perfect spot to relax.”

“Egret’s Cove is a spacious, clean and a very comfortable space to call home while on the island. The location cuts a great balance between convenience to restaurants, stores, grocery, etc and a sense of solitude. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful views. Will rebook Egret’s Cove!”

“The house was very nice and clean. I have one major problem with the house. THE BEDS ARE AWFUL!!!! There were two of us that stayed there, and neither one of us could sleep on the beds. They are hard and horribly uncomfortable. And I know there are people that like hard mattresses, but this goes beyond anything you could imagine. The pillows on the beds are about 8 inches thick and as hard as a rock as well. You couldn’t use those either. The house itself is beautiful, and in a very convenient location. We go to the eastern shore quite often and won’t stay in that particular house again, unless the mattresses and pillows are replaced.”

“This was an awful experience from start to finish. The property was filthy, with bugs and ants crawling all over the place. The listing was also completely misleading because the pool was advertised, yet it was closed until after Memorial Day with no warning at all. Housekeeping was unacceptable, customer service was even worse, and to make matters worse, they never even sent check-in instructions. For a large company, this level of disorganization and lack of care is inexcusable. I would absolutely not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.”

“Took my boyfriend here for a birthday getaway and it was easily one of our favorite rentals we've stayed at! The location was convenient to visit Chincoteague & Assateague, as well as other small towns in the area. Even though you are close to the other 2 rentals, it still feels private and quiet - I would love to come here in the summer to lounge outside and enjoy the view. Even though the location and rental were in great condition, we did take one star off. As another reviewer stated, both outside doors have issues locking, and we weren't able to lock the doors throughout our stay. My boyfriend was a bit put off from the strong sulfur-smelling water in the shower & kitchen. My biggest issue was our last day checkout. The rental agency maintains strict check-in & check-out times, which is understandable, but I don't feel comfortable having the cleaning crew hovering and watching us check-out at 9:45 AM, especially when they didn't have scheduled follow on renters any time soon.”
