“Long time Airbnb user, and love the service. It hurts me to not give 5 stars, but unfortunately I must. Good: location is awesome. 5 mins to excellent beach, groceries, restaurants. 10 mins to even more. Needs improvement: - no hot water. Like none. This isn’t an old house issue, every bathroom in 5 minute showers never got warm. - instructions unclear how to enter home. The front door has a key box that the buttons don’t work. Thankfully used the code on back door to get in after trying awhile. - You’re communicating with a 3rd party for any feedback, not an owner, so there will be delays and less knowledge/ability to help in real time. There’s definitely also plenty of little “old house” issues as others have pointed out. To be honest, I’m willing to give a pass on those for a 100 year old house. Having said that..if you’re going to charge 5 star / top of market prices for the stay, those issues need to be ironed out and/or clearly stated in the description for folks.”

“The view is absolutely beautiful. And location great too! The place itself definitely needs some TLC- bathtub drain didn’t plug, blinds barely opened & there was a mustier smoky smell in the bedrooms. It’s a little dated, but it was comfortable enough. It also was 85 inside during the late day inside the apartment (because the way the sun was shining in through the windows), we bought a fan & kept windows open to get us through but some thicker curtains might’ve helped with the heat through the windows. We tried getting early check in the host’s vacation rental company tried charging us $150 more than the early check in cost. So that was sketch. the view & location were the highlight!”

“I struggle to write this review because we did have a wonderful trip with incredible views as so many people have mentioned. The code for entry was difficult with poor instructions and only worked randomly. Of course it worked fine when the helpful and polite maintenance man came to help. We used the key the entire time which had its own sensitivities. There is a bump in the floor that we all stumbled over for a day. The maintenance man said it was only recently reported. I asked him to put some tape over it to help it show up as we had two 86 year old ladies that could not risk injury. The carpet in the hallway needs to be replaced. I would think that with the amount that they charge us for the incredible view they can invest in updates. Quaint is lovely but dirty grout in bathrooms and kitchen is not quaint. There was one single beach towel and no beach chairs or toys. The fireplace and ceilings make the place quite comfortable.”

“I would not recommend renting this property or anything from Casago. The 2 nice things I can say about this property are that the location is great if being within walking distance to San Clemente beach is a priority and that the bed is comfortable. The property is easy to find. Note that this is located in a densely populated neighborhood and properties are so close you can hear your neighbors sneeze, especially if windows are open. We had a terrible experience on our last night, which vastly overshadowed any positive experience we had the 2 previous nights. Deep in the night the house alarm went off for no reason that we knew about. It was an ear splitting, eye watering noise, and there was no way for us to turn in off. This happened 5-6 different times throughout the night. The only number provided for issues was for a virtual assistant who repeatedly disconnected the calls. I was finally able to leave a message. No one ever called me back. Never talked to a human. Thumbs down 👎 👎.”

“Beautiful location and view! However, the house smelled of urine, badly! The windows were dirty, my husband cleaned them. The ants were everywhere and there was not any ant spray underneath the sink, as directed by instructions on the refrigerator. The furniture was VERY uncomfortable and smelled also. The twin beds sagged and need new mattress covers. The queen had nubby sheets. The TV screen had a blur in the middle of the screen. The urine smell was the worse of all. Now, I know I could have called the rental co(we did about the tv), but I should not have to for the price we were paying. The windows should be clean, no smell, and good bedding for this price point. I will not rent this property again.”

“Only stay here if ur a bunch of 20 year old kids that don’t care about cleanliness and bed quality. We walked in and first floor was fine, outdated, but fine. Then we go upstairs and all three bedrooms carpets are COVERED in stains, so they throw rugs on the carpet to cover the stains and even the rugs are covered in stains. Mattress were from the 1950s or the cheapest mattresses ever made. My pregnant wife and I had to sleep on the couch. Booked for 3 nights, checked out after the first night and had to get a hotel room. Casago is shit. Told them what was going on and how we had to check into a hotel. They denied me a refund and just kept prolonging an answer until our check out date. ALSO, first night there we come home from dinner and the owners of the home are in the backyard… no heads up they are coming by. Terrible experience. Would never stay here again.”

“This place was okay. The best part was the decor. The worst part was communication with hosts or host mgmt company and access. It is located somewhat close to Lake arrowhead however the location is not accurate with what is shown prior to booking. The location shows much closer to golf course but that’s not true.”

“Besides 9 hours without power, the bed in the master was so bad I slept on the couch”

“It's a beautiful location, right near the water. Couple things to keep in mind. One, the AC unit is in the living room, not the bedroom. The apartment is on the 2nd floor. it gets a touch warm. Two, the couch is A**. You can feel the springs. It's giving we-got-it-free-on-FB-marketplace. Three, I had requested a date change minutes after my initial booking (4 weeks before the actual stay). This was never addressed by the company (Casago) that manages the Airbnb, they didn't accept or deny the request. I wrongly assumed it had been accepted (which is my fault) and discovered shortly before the trip that it was no longer available. It was communication that fell through the cracks, but it was frustrating and left a bad taste in my mouth. Anyhow, be very clear in your communication and double check that you are on the same page. Take this review with a grain of salt, except for the couch.”

“We were looking forward to our stay but left disappointed. I'd give this property 2 stars: one for the location and one for the view. While advertised for 6 guests, it wasn't equipped for 6. There were only 4 dining chairs, 4 dirty wine glasses (2 with lip marks), no dishware to BBQ and dirty mugs and plates. The upstairs floors were dirty (my white socks turned black) , the downstairs carpets were heavily stained, and the dishwasher tipped forward when opened. The bedding and kitchen items felt mismatched and worn. Overall, the home felt poorly maintained and equipped, lacked attention to detail, and was not as clean as it essentially should have been. I messaged with the service, and have yet to hear back after they stated they would get back to me.”
