Better Beach Rentals's guest rating of 4.47 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Great location, nice house. Pool was not kept clean and the pool heater did not work. Other amenities were great! The company was not responsive on Airbnb and half of the time the phone number went to voicemail. Overall, good but the hosts could be more responsive!”airbnb

“Overall, we enjoyed the home, its a great location offers a comfortable layout and a pool! But the first impressions were pretty rocky. The door code did not work, and we were unable to enter the residence for about 30 minutes. Getting assistance was also difficult because communication was not easily accessible through Airbnb or text, and the phone representative could not locate our reservation based on the address since the confirmation code was not included in the contact information message. Another inconvenience was arriving to beds that were not made. The sheets were not on the beds, and the pillows still needed to be put into pillowcases, which we only realized once we were getting into bed. The bathrooms also did not have hand soap despite there being soap pumps present. The kitchen itself was very well stocked with utensils, pans, and gadgets, which we appreciated. However, consumable supplies were minimal. Only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom was provided, and there”airbnb

“Pros: Location is wonderful. Very short walk to the beach, and a peaceful neighborhood. The home was clean, beautiful, and spacious. Lots of kitchen amenities and dish ware. Good price. Cons: very poor communication from Better Beach Rentals. We asked specific questions about early check in and wifi, and literally never received an answer to those questions. Instead, we only received automated responses. It was clear there was no real human behind the messages. They gave us contradictory door codes, which led to confusion. They did not provide a sufficient amount of kitchen towels (1) bathroom towels (1 per bathroom), paper towel (1), toilet paper (1 per bathroom) or garbage bags (1). The sheets were not on the beds when we arrived; we had to make up our own beds. The blinds were broken in one room. The upstairs balcony slider door was broken when we got there (not on the tracks) and almost fell on a 4-year old.”airbnb

“Dear Better Beach Homes, We wanted to share feedback regarding our recent stay at your property. Overall, we truly loved the home and the view was absolutely beautiful. The location and scenery made for a memorable trip, and we appreciate the efforts of the team during our stay. There were, however, several maintenance and cleanliness concerns that we feel should be addressed for future guests. When we arrived, the air conditioning was not working and the home was extremely hot. Your crew responded quickly and brought temporary units, which we appreciated, but they were unable to reach the homeowner regarding the issue. While we understand unexpected problems can happen, arriving to a home without functioning air conditioning was difficult after traveling. We also felt the cleanliness and overall maintenance of the property were lacking. Even on the day of our departure, towels and sheets from the previous stay were still left outside the property. Inside the home, there were notic”airbnb

“The place overall was good. There were plenty of space in the house. Beautiful scenery to enjoy and get pictures. Plenty of local shops and stores nearby to enjoy. It was the first time we had to make our own beds and had very little basic necessities. Definitely had a workout for our legs with all the stairs we had to take going up and down three floors.”airbnb

“The home was amazing, lots of communal space for meals and lounging. We had a baby with us and it was very quiet on the third floor so he was never disturbed. Conveniently located right on the beach with beautiful views and balconies. They told us a list of items we had to bring ourselves including dish soap, toilet paper and paper towels but we also had to run to the store to get hand soaps for all of the bathrooms. The host/rental company was not very responsive as replies usually took a couple days and we didn’t hear back about one of our questions while we were on the trip.”airbnb

“This is a beautiful big place! has a great view, spacious, plenty of seating for a big group, beds & pillows are comfortable! There's a big pool & in ground hottub on the 2nd level backdeck. Pool doesn't seem to have a filter system though. It was raining & cold so none of our group swam in it. They don't provide handsoap, dish soap, dish sponge so bring your own as well as extra trash bags (13 gal; had 4 bins), paper towels, toilet papers. I have 2 complaint but doesn't take away from the rental itself. it's moreso just the communication. We had to call multiple times upon check in to get a new code for the door bc it was due to technical issues? Also, like many reviews have mentioned, there's a very slow response whenever a question arises. We also never got check out instructions even after reaching out so we did our best upon check out. Prior to coming communication want the worse. Someone would read the message on Airbnb app but never respond.”airbnb

“You should go into this rental understanding that this is a beach rental and does not qualify for the Airbnb standard of service. Beautiful views from the house, sharpest knives I’ve ever used in a rental, and comfortable enough beds. The house sleeps 14, but I would say the common space is better for about half that number of people. The kitchen is best for about 2 people at a time. They are not transparent about this, but they do not provide basics. There is no hand soap in the bathrooms, no dish soap, sponges, or salt/pepper in the kitchen. They provide one thin hand towel for the kitchen and one roll of TP per bathroom. They will expect you to strip the beds & remove the trash when you are finished, which is not usual Airbnb requests. They will also take 2-3 days to respond to your message, so be aware that the response is slow. Overall, nice house but they are providing legacy beach company level services and not Airbnb standards.”airbnb

“Pros: Beautiful location, easy walk to the beach, easy walk to restaurants, easy check in Cons: -Terrible host communication. Host took anywhere from 8 hours to not responding at all. -No trash cans provided in most bathrooms -No hand soap in any bathrooms -Sheet with human fecal matter on it in a closet with broken lamps. Response to this was, "Sorry, this isn't normal for us." -Hot tub had enough trash and dead bugs in it that we didn't let the kids get in it. -Washing machine was full of mold, cigarette butts, tobacco, and a lighter. We had to ask multiple times before someone was sent out to try to take care of it. Ultimately the washer was too disgusting for us to be able to use. (The maintenance man, Ricky, who came to help was amazing, kind, helpful, and responsive.) -Blinds broken in bathroom facing the road so that they couldn't be closed. -Roaches -Zero issues were resolved by host. Used AirBnB support for resolution.”airbnb
