Aunt Bug's

Aunt Bug's's guest rating of 4.42 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

This place needs maintenance and a deep clean. It was very dirty. This wasn’t a onetime miss of cleaning staff this has built up over a very long period of time. If there would have been any cleaning supplies there I would have cleaned it myself just to be able to rest better. The view is beautiful and location is great. The pools are nice and the community is well kept. There was a door opened under the house to a crawl space that had clearly been opened for a long time, vents busted out in the crawl space, pet stained carpets, spiderwebs everywhere inside, dirty showers where I didn’t feel comfortable to bathe.

Only thing I didn’t like was that contractor just welcomed themselves in with out a notice while I was asleep to fix the ac unit

When we first got there and walked in after a 6 1/2 hour drive we were exhausted tired and hot!! We walked in and it was 78 degrees in the cabin we checked the AC and seen it was set for 70 degrees we left it alone hoping it would go down (it is a little big) we also had to clean it up after noticing dirt and nastiness under the couches and around the couches dirty towels and the best part was bringing out that black light and seeing nasty stained sheets in each room. (Easy fixes we thought) we changed the sheets, got pillows and towels went and bought a fan. We came back at11:30 pm and it had went to 77 degrees. We tried to contact Shawn or Patricia no response Airbnb themselves responded I spent from 11:45pm till 6am on the phone with all the issues that had happened within a few hour span. Long story short I do NOT recommend this place, no communication from Shawn and only the co host but that didn’t happen tjll almost 10am then she got mad and tryed to a file a complaint on us 🤣🤦

The cabin is in a peaceful location. We loved hearing the Dollywood train and seeing a small portion of the nightly fireworks from the driveway. The cabin was cozy, the downstairs was great for our kids, and the kitchen was well stocked. Unfortunately, there were several maintenance and cleanliness issues, including broken hot tub pieces, dirty A/C filters, stained toilets, grimy light switches, spiders in the showers, and an old vacuum that barely worked and had a foul odor. The downstairs door didn’t seal properly, letting bugs in, and both exterior doors facing the driveway really need curtains for privacy, especially the downstairs room where people sleep. Our biggest disappointment was the lack of view, we chose this cabin for it but the listing photos were taken in winter. In summer, the trees block most of the view. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, felt safe, and slept well, but due to the lack of a view and the cleanliness and maintenance issues, we’d rate it 3/5 for the price.

This was absolutely the dirtiest Airbnb we have ever stayed in. Upon arrival @ 2:30, we cleaned until 5 when we contacted management & owner. Both sent cleaner over to see what we were talking about. The cleaner even said, "I would not want to stay here either. This place needs a deep clean." Upon calling management company (AuntBugs) & owner, was offered a 1BR/1Bath as alternative @ 5:53pm was told to "hurry up, we close @ 6." Mind you this is a 3BR/2Bath, so we declined. After giving up for the evening, we left for dinner. The next morning upon still not getting adequate replacement, we opted to leave & find another Airbnb. Best advice I can ever give is stay away from Shawn (who I am guessing works for Aunt Bugs) and any cabin with the Aunt Bugs management company. We have over 50 photos/videos to show what we experienced. From the beer can on the deck rail upon arrival to the floor mop water, which after 6 passes was dirtier than the Little Pigeon River. STAY AWAY!

This is our 4th or 5th cabin rental and by far the most disappointing. I've used Aunt Bugs multiple times before and always had great success and wonderful cabins. This new one on their roster doesn't match. Cleaning staff doesn't do their job. There was a knocked over trash can with trash in it under the balcony. There were screaming dogs and screaming babies almost every night. I know that isn't the owners fault and maybe this was a one time thing. But I paid way too much for this. There was dried dog poop on the carpet in the living room. The wood paneling was coming off the island in the kitchen and had multiple nails sticking out. Wifi info was incorrect. There was no secure connection. The only thing they corrected while we were there was sending a maintenance man to nail in the wood on the island. He also was the one that told us that wifi info was wrong. That we had to use the public one. Which fine- but all the other stuff. And the driveway is horrible. Need 4 wheel drive.

Once we got checked in to relax a bit we noticed the bed sheets and pillow cases has crazy amounts of dog hair. We knew the cabin was pet friendly. Which isn’t an issue. The issue is when you spend $500 dollars on a house you expect clean sheets. They did resolve that issue. There is black mold growing in the bathroom. The jet tub indoors has massive duct tape in the bottom of it. We were told it was safe to use, but it looked disgusting and unappealing. There were bugs in our bed. Every Airbnb home I’ve stayed at provided some sort of hand soap at least. If you like bright lights shining in your face while you sleep, the broken bed is positioned perfectly for that. I so desperately wanted a refund to just get a hotel, they give you complementary coffee there. I’d give this zero stars and I hope everyone saves their money. Stay somewhere else. I’ll say they did offer us a different cabin…if we wanted to travel to a different town that wasn’t part of our vacation plans and destination.

This listing is VERY misleading. Upon check in - the smell of rotten eggs hits you in the face. The shower was FILTHY. Black rings of grime all around it. I have photo documentation for my claims. You are not being hosted by an actual host. This is a cabin rental company so BEWARE. The following morning, we were leaving for the day and the camper wouldn’t lock. We called the number at the place and was told maintenance would be out. Mind you, the girl taking the call didn’t even know which lock of what unit we were in. We had no WiFi. The bed was AWFUL. It’s so firm and lays on a piece of plywood. For the price we paid and the pictures, I expected more. We came back after being out all day to the whole camper smelling like sewer. And guess what? Maintenance never came to fix the lock or WiFi issues. The cleanliness - I have MULTIPLE photos showing the dust, left over trash. We had to leave at 3 am due to the nastiness and general safety concerns.

The location was great but the cleanliness of the cabin was not good at all. Urine stains on sheets and comforters. Pool had a film on it when we arrived. There wasn’t any communication on when they would be arriving to fix anything that I had reported. We would be gone and come back to a sign on the handle of the door the first day where they fixed the pool and then the next day we had sheets and comforter sitting on the kitchen table after reporting the urine stained items. The house was in a great location. After we bought our own bedding and they cleaned the pool, everyone seemed to enjoy everything else about it.
