American Patriot Getaways

American Patriot Getaways's guest rating of 4.61 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

The front door was hard to open and close. All doors need attention. No place to put things in bedrooms.

I probably would not book with American Patriot again. Around 42 days before our stay we tried to shorten by 1 day, we shot us in the foot because we should've just cancel and gone someplace else. Because we stay for 4 days but pay for 5 days. They like to take your money so be aware.

Overall not bad - but for staying a week in a place they offered no cleaning supplies to wipe counters down or maintain cleanliness, one towel per person for a week- yes there was a washer/dryer but to only offer one small cheap white towel for that length of time was a little disappointing. We were traveling 10 hrs arrival was slightly earlier ably 30 minutes and they would not give us the code to get, knowing we were outside of the home and no cleaning crew was onsite site. There was dust on everything cobwebs in doorways, overall didn’t feel as clean as it could be. Location was great, the amenities are very used- but I guess expected as an Airbnb- the kitchen had pretty much everything you needed, which was nice.

2 Bedrooms’ ACs did not work for 2 nights during heatwave, repaired after complaining. Bugs found everywhere in the house, feels like house was made for rental only, so not sealed properly. Not sure when they washed linens/blankets, all of them were smelly. Outdoor was not cleaned, so couldn’t enjoy at all. And had to negotiate to get some refund, which was not a genuine effort from their side even after all of this suffering. Overall it felt like the house was not inspected before our booking, which is why most of the issues we got.

This stay was fine. We enjoyed the amenities (movie theater, pool table, hot tub, pool). It had plenty of room throughout the cabin for the number of guests we had. There were a quite a few issues though: the front door handle fell off as soon as we got there (um, scary and not a good sign), the sliding shower door completely fell off, the bed sheets had hair on them, the beds/sheets/pillows were cheap and uncomfortable, each fridge drawer was broken making it hard to open and close them, two fridge shelves were broken to the point that someone before us had pulled them out and put them into the kitchen cabinets (so yeah they weren’t usable), there were no trash bags and when we called they told us that housekeeping is supposed to add the bags but this must not have happened before our trip (with as many people as we had there this was actually quite inconvenient). There was also not enough parking for our party. Overall the stay was fine but I will be staying elsewhere in the future.

Not a bad place to stay but needs basic maintenance the driveway is very steep do not drive a sedan to this location even if you enter correctly in the instructions your vehicle will bottom out my brothers mufflers were bent after driving up the first time. Upon arrival there was broken glass at the bottom of the stair steps the grill by the fire pit is scrap metal it’s way too rusted for use the grill on the balcony the tray that directs all grease to the trap was laying at the bottom of the grill with the trap on top extreme fire hazard asked them to fix it they did not so me and a relative fixed it. Knives are dull and unable to cut through much so bring a sharpener. Beds are uncomfortable a couple seem to be broken the bed I was in sunk in felt like I could roll off in my sleep. There were exposed nail heads and a staple on the back of the steps going to the bottom level sliced my daughter, niece, and wife’s heels. They do not communicate through the app and try to through text.

For the price you pay this place was not worth it. This property has been neglected and the pictures are misleading. The driveway is tough and I expected it based on prior reviews but I underestimated how steep it really is. The garbage cans had been rummaged through due to them not getting a new lock. Bear activity was increased and trash was all behind the cabin. We actually had a bear break into our vehicle. There were times we couldn’t get in or out of our cabin due to the bear not leaving. We couldn’t safely walk our dog and the door knob to the porch barely hanging on by a thread made us nervous. Also didn’t think it was sanitary to not have fitted sheets on the beds. After all this we decided to stay else where. We spoke to customers service there was nothing they could do and if we chose to call for the bear to be relocated “it wouldn’t get done on a holiday weekend ” Which we wouldn’t have wanted for the bear. We were not offered any reimbursement for the days we didn’t stay.

The only thing I would say is if you get cold easily, with air on, bring xtra blankets and towels were very few, we had 5 towels for 5 people, and no towels for the hot tub! We just ran to Walmart and got some xtra. Our Golden Retriever felt very comfortable and loved her walks! Would definitely return!

Great location, easy check in, neighborhood was quiet. Cabin was exactly like the listing.. (unsure of how to add pics) downstairs bed sheets looked like they had never been changed. Orange Stains, hair, and crumbs were found in the bed. After a long drive I don’t want to question if I’m laying in a dirty bed. Next to the bed on the floor/baseboard was soo much dust and dirt, and mouse poop. (Easily seen when changing sheets, in my opinion) Downstairs bathroom is poorly lit (toilet/shower area) Hot-tub also didn’t work, fixed the day before we left. Emailed the host, no help.. called, they had no record of said email. Hats off to the mechanic who showed up, 10/10. Hand mixer is on its way out.. only one beater would lock in. You will need to bring your own coffee/kcups- (I know most people do, but for the price paid a complementary cup or two would have been nice, since there are two coffee makers)! Salt/pepper, scissors, first aid kit, and TOWELS - there were only four there.

Very beautiful property on the outside and easy check in, however when we walked in you could tell the house was new and was cheaply built. There were nails everywhere on the deck, lots of handles were broken/ crooked. There was no basic kitchen needs (we bought the basics from store before coming) no salt, pepper, coffee filters for machine. The photos showed soap dispensers but they were all empty on arrival. There were no extra blankets or pillows each bed had one comforter and no blankets. Also there were dead bugs everywhere in the vents, floors, and bedding. We brought these concerns to them and they mentioned they could offer us a 25% discount on the next stay instead of addressing the current stay.
