There are an overwhelming number of rules, notifications, and warnings before and during our stay. First up are the forms to fill out before you arrive which required the license plate of our rental car which we wouldn’t know until wthe morning of our arrival so couldn’t fill out the form. Then there were the WARNINGS and NOTICES about the procedures for their parking garage & you will be FINED if you don’t comply. And if you forget, just look at the WARNINGS & NOTICES plastered around the condo. YOU WILL BE WATCHED to make sure you follow the rules. But don’t relax yet — Upon check in, the first thing you are advised to do is look around the condo and report anything that is broken because you will be FINED for damages! There’s no coffee in the condo, something which is generally provided in most Airbnbs. There’s a sign saying food items are compliments of the host. Obviously it’s just random things left by other guests and most is expired by a year! Condo is tired, needs a refresh.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this home. The location was phenomenal, we were able to walk to the beach and Carlsbad Village. We felt perfectly safe and the house provided everything we needed. One thing I wish was more clearly outlined was the fact that there’s no AC. They do provide fans and we kept windows open, but even when the highs were only in the high 70s, the house still got very warm (thermostat was reading 82) and we had a really hard time being comfortable and sleeping at nights. We had to spend the vast majority of our time in the backyard because the house was way too hot, and we’re from Phoenix so we’re used to the heat! If you go when the outdoor temps are cooler, this house would be great.

Great location - beautiful home, it just needs screens on the windows!

Pros: Great location, comfortable bed, clean place, parking space, quiet neighborhood. Cons: small bathroom, a/c doesn’t cool bedroom but ceiling fan helps, no salt/pepper or any other kitchen items for cooking. Oven had not been cleaned which caused smoking when turned on.

Do not waste your money on this property. There is no wifi and zero cell service. When you request to talk with someone it's AI. Contact the owner for a better deal.... waste of money

Our stay was somewhat unpleasant with all the electricity issues that started on day 2 until the last day of our stay. Power trips off and the entire unit shuts down. There’s AC but you cannot even use it without being annoyed because we always had to reset the breaker, the electrician came and said that the unit itself cannot handle the voltage of the appliances. Air concierge kept on saying sorry but nothing actually happened, it is so inconvenient that despite the good amenities the unit have if you cannot use it whats the point? For the price, its not worth it we asked for compensation for all the issues, but seems they forget about it. Imagine showering with cold water for 5 days, not being able to use the dishwasher and repeatedly had to reset the breaker in the middle of the night. So disappointing.

The place itself was nice, but unfortunately, my experience with the host was disappointing. I had to deal with flight issues and notified the host less than 48 hours in advance. I asked to shorten my stay due to the cancellation, but they were unable to accommodate the change or provide a refund, which resulted in me paying extra to stay for the dates I could actually use. I also found the bathtub in one of the rooms to be quite dirty, with a dead cockroach nearby. The pool was also quite dirty as well. There was an issue with the A/C, but the host addressed it promptly, which I appreciated. Overall, it’s a nice property, but if you book with this host, I recommend being certain of your dates, as they may not be flexible with changes due to unexpected travel issues.

Entrance is at the side of the house as the main front door is bolted shut. The side entrance was unkept (spider webs and leaves). Layout of the spiral stairwell and space was a bit awkward, especially with small kids. Check in "to do" list was inconvenient - spent at least 45 min. checking for items like trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, clean sponges (which were not readily available). The previous cleaning crew did not do a sufficient job to prep the place for our use (despite the $$$ cleaning fee that is automatically charged). Outside trash bins were full from previous users so we had to "neatly" place our trash along side of the full bins. Fortunately, the view helped us to stay outside most of the day.

Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Our only issue was parking. The listing says there is a designated parking spot in the back and we were never able to park in our spot the entire 5 days we were there and a car was always in our spot. There is zero parking on the street in front of the property and most nights we had to park on the Main Street and walk in the dark to our rental. It was unacceptable. We did reach out to the company and although they were responsive, there was never a resolution. We rented this place for the primary reason of private parking and felt cheated that we paid for this amenity and did not get to park.

A few things to note they will not let you check in early before 3 PM. They will not store your luggage. The office was very hard to find, the place was filthy , Worn out stained up needs new wall paint the beds are extremely uncomfortable. We did advise them they did nothing for us. Just said we’re sorry the blinds are cheap metal blinds that do nothing for the light coming in. It gets extremely hot in the summer the small portable AC unit really does nothing in the daytime. the smoke alarm was red showing that it needed a new battery. Some of the lights were not working. The couch was so old and worn out and stained up. We didn’t want to sit on it let alone walk anywhere barefooted.. we did provide them pictures and contacted them right away and they did nothing. They just said sorry. Please be advised that once you are ready to check in they will send you a bunch of new rules and possible fees that you will inquire they also ask for a $300 security deposit which they’ll charge .
