“The Treehouse is a really nice little cabin in the woods. Super isolated and very quiet with plenty of acreage to snowshoe and walk around, which was nice. My biggest beef was the hidden pet fee in the additional rules. Airbnbs rules are now supposed to include all fees but they’re still allowing properties to hide fees in the additional rules and see more section. The original price was a good deal but I would have never agreed to a $300 pet cleaning fee. When we arrived they noted they had issues with the front door, which was fine, but it meant that we couldn’t lock the door at all. The space was generally clean. No issues with the linens, bathroom, kitchen etc. I did notice pet fur on the couch (before I let my dogs in the cabin) and there were zombie flies and dead insects at the doors and windows. It’s in the middle of the woods, so fine, but if you’re charging a $300 additional fee the place better be spotless. And it wasn’t. Cute, nostalgic, but overpriced if taking dogs.”
