“This was our second time staying here (previously for a fall trip). Love that we can bring our dogs and the large fenced in yard for them to run around in! It is spacious, clean, and well equipped for staying in and enjoying a meal at home. It’s very close to local breweries, wineries, and hiking and also a short drive to Crozet and Charlottesville if wanting to venture out beyond Afton. The yard is beautiful to enjoy from the coveted porch in the mornings or from the Adirondack chairs with fire pit for cooler evenings. Air conditioning and tower fans kept us cool and comfortable for sleeping during for our summer visit. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!”

“The house itself was very cute, and overall we enjoyed our stay and our time at Afton Mountain. Unfortunately, our experience with the management company was disappointing. The coffee maker was broken when we arrived, and we were told that it would be replaced. However, after a five-day stay, we never received a replacement. The only follow-up communication we received was an offer to reimburse us for coffee we purchased during our stay. While a coffee maker may seem like a small issue, it is a basic amenity we expected to have, and more importantly, we were disappointed that we were told it would be taken care of and then it wasn’t. Better communication and follow-through from the management company would have made a big difference. We really did enjoy the house and the area, but the lack of responsiveness and follow-through from management took away from what otherwise would have been a very enjoyable stay.”

“We absolutely LOVED our stay at Fox Cottage! From the moment we walked in we felt so at peace. The area is just what we wanted as well—private but only 15-20 minutes from amazing food and events. We saw deer grazing, enjoyed the lovely Sunflower festival only six minutes away and had wonderful coffee at Tragers. Seeing shooting stars at the fire pit was my highlight and we will DEFINITELY be back.”
