“This house was a great space for our extended family to gather for a UVA football game.”airbnb

“Great location and walking distance to restaurants & boutiques. I loved the gardens and very private space. Only drawback at times was hearing the wine bottles being dumped in trash at times from the restaurants behind. Great Stay ! Highly Recommend”airbnb

“Place was just as described and super close to King Family Vineyard where we attended a wedding. Would stay here again for sure.”airbnb

“This was our second time staying here (previously for a fall trip). Love that we can bring our dogs and the large fenced in yard for them to run around in! It is spacious, clean, and well equipped for staying in and enjoying a meal at home. It’s very close to local breweries, wineries, and hiking and also a short drive to Crozet and Charlottesville if wanting to venture out beyond Afton. The yard is beautiful to enjoy from the coveted porch in the mornings or from the Adirondack chairs with fire pit for cooler evenings. Air conditioning and tower fans kept us cool and comfortable for sleeping during for our summer visit. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!”airbnb

“The house itself was very cute, and overall we enjoyed our stay and our time at Afton Mountain. Unfortunately, our experience with the management company was disappointing. The coffee maker was broken when we arrived, and we were told that it would be replaced. However, after a five-day stay, we never received a replacement. The only follow-up communication we received was an offer to reimburse us for coffee we purchased during our stay. While a coffee maker may seem like a small issue, it is a basic amenity we expected to have, and more importantly, we were disappointed that we were told it would be taken care of and then it wasn’t. Better communication and follow-through from the management company would have made a big difference. We really did enjoy the house and the area, but the lack of responsiveness and follow-through from management took away from what otherwise would have been a very enjoyable stay.”airbnb

“Our confirmed reservation for a party of 4 couples, all coming from out of town, was cancelled one hour prior to our check in time and arrival. The host cited a system issue with Airbnb, but all I know is that four couples were stranded with no lodging upon arrival in town. They did offer alternate locations, but none met our requirement to house 4 mature couples close to downtown - the reason we chose this property in the first place. We did exchange messages with the host when the reservation was made months before, so they were aware of the reservation. They apparently have no mechanism to track their company (Guesthouses) reservation system alongside Airbnb's and have no process to routinely check and verify the baseline of their reservations. our reservation was clearly in the system and Airbnb has refunded us and provided a credit. The property has a fantastic location and looks great, but I highly recommend you contact the host to verify reservation status often.”airbnb

“Beautiful treehouse type views, and absolutely top location! Ice cream and sandwich shop in the building, walkable coffee and library. Very pretty inside too, open space and great natural light. Furniture needs a little update, a couple pieces were losing screws, and the blanket on the couch needed a wash and shower curtain was a little moldy. Also no extra towels (exactly 4 for a 2 bedroom place), or extra toilet paper or paper towels or anything.”airbnb

“While I understand that unexpected issues happen, our experience did not quite align with the Superhost standard expected and the price point we paid for a two-night stay. Two days before arrival, the AC broke. The host worked to resolve it before we checked in by installing mobile units attached to the windows, which we appreciated, but the setup unfortunately prevented the window blinds from closing, leaving us without privacy at night. There was also a persistent stale odor in the home throughout the weekend. The main area for improvement is communication and billing transparency. There was a misunderstanding regarding our payment amount with the representative that required Airbnb support to step in and clarify. Ultimately, we were only offered a $65 reimbursement for a stay that felt heavily compromised and the amount of added stress on our end. I hope management uses this feedback to improve their communication and property maintenance for future guests.”airbnb
