Place was great to stay! Instructions, like other reviews said, is slightly confusing. You have to check into a different resort across the street. The room was clean and super nice! However, the the photos on the listing show walkable areas and places to relax around the resort. But a lot of it is closed off because it seems like it was bought out by the other facility. We pretty much had the Red Mountain Resort to ourselves. You are able to use the amenities across the street which has lots of restaurants and a beautiful pool! Overall great location, close to hiking trails and tuachan theater!

We had a lovely stay in this condo. As other reviewers said, this resort is currently closed except for private rentals. Check in at the neighboring resort was easy and I felt like directions were clear. I personally liked the idea of staying at the closed one better because it was very quiet and serene. The other resort was a 5 min or less drive nearby to utilize the amenities. Beautiful area and clean spacious condo. We would definitely stay here again.

Once we finally got into our room, everything was great. However, finding the correct place to check in was confusing. Black Desert Resort bought out Red Mountain Resort, so to avoid any confusion, go directly to the Black Desert front desk for check-in. Red Mountain no longer has a front office or on-site amenities, but guests have access to the amenities at Black Desert Resort. The address listed: 1500 E Black Desert Dr, Ivins, UT 84738 looks like it’ll eventually be Black Desert’s main entrance, but right now there’s a gate with a construction entrance sign. It’s not letting me share the pinned location link here that we used to find the front desk so keep in mind that you may need to search for another way into the resort.

The surroundings here are absolutely beautiful—peaceful, scenic, and truly a special place to relax. The villa itself was comfortable and felt like a fair value for the setting, and we appreciated the flexibility with check-in. That said, our overall experience was a bit confusing. The listing description could be clearer and more detailed. We arrived late at night and both entrances to the provided address were gated with “under construction” signs, which felt a bit unsettling. After walking to the mapped information center, we learned the Red Mountain Resort is now managed by Black Desert Resort (about 3 minutes away). The unit ended up being behind those gates, which wasn’t obvious ahead of time. Checkout instructions were also unclear—we weren’t sure about cleaning or where to return key cards. We tried contacting the host and resorts but couldn’t reach anyone for about 20 minutes. Overall, a beautiful place, but clearer communication would really improve the experience.
