My family had a wonderful stay for three full days at the beach. The location couldn’t be any better!

As an Airbnb Superhost who manages my own property without a management company, I notice the details. This home was cute, thoughtfully decorated, well stocked with essentials, and had a comfortable bed. The beachfront location was the highlight and is ideal for a quiet getaway. A few things could be improved. The exterior A/C unit blows hot air directly onto the deck, so we had to turn the air off to comfortably sit outside. A patio dining table would also make the deck more usable. The A/C vents, unit above the door, and some areas could use a thorough cleaning and dusting. Check-in time was enforced strictly, even though the property had been vacant the previous night. The internet also went out Saturday night and appeared to rely on a 4G/5G connection rather than hardwired service. Surfside is very quiet, with limited activities and underwhelming restaurants with slow service. Stock up at a supermarket before arriving. Overall, it is a good choice for relaxing by the beach.

We all left early. Our guest were so disgusted by the water, they stayed one night. We TRIED TO STICK IT OUT, BUT LEFT 2 DAYS EARLY, and went to Houston instead. The 979 crew told us, that's just how it was there. The maintenance person told us to look at their website for homes with a filtration system. They were aware of the problem, but had not addressed it at this particular home. We were told to go to city hall to get free drinking water. It smelled like sewage and to bath in it was so gross.. We stopped and left. We had to brush our teeth with bottled water. The windows leaked when it rained. My foot went straight thru the rotting roof deck on day 2.and the screened in porch is NOT WEATHER PROOF. IT POURED RAIN IN THE COVERED, SCREENED IN PORCH.. RUINED MY CAMERA AND A PAIR OF BINOCULARS WE HAD SITTING OUT THERE. I would never stay here again, nor would I stay in a 979 property. We stay at the beach all the time and had noticed this groups properties going up and down with rating

We had a great stay overall. The house was clean, plenty of dishes and cookware for every need and I love that each room had its own bathroom. The space beneath the home was flooded with debris and unfortunately the hammocks I saw from the pictures and couldn't wait to lounge in were rotted and falling apart. Everything else was great!
