The 979 Crew's guest rating of 4.67 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“this was by far the worst Airbnb stay in have had. the place was not as described in the listing. was very horribly unkempt. electrical issues and all around like living in a cardboard box put together with duck tape. i would not recommend this place for the price they are charging. things to also know there are horrible mosquito swarms in the area. the listing shows a very nice quiet get away with room for 6-7 people. this is a 2-3 person get away at best. the whole house is falling apart and the electrical is on the fringe. they had the breaker box locked up and another closet locked with a bolt and a combo lock. all the wooden doors were peeling and destroyed. the floor was either duck taped or painted plywood. the only thing semi functional was the one and only bathroom. dirty, unkempt, unbefitting for a fortune that I payed for it. would not recommend at all.”airbnb

“The house was beautiful, but the customer service was very disappointing. Upon arrival, we found a large stain on a mattress protector and a hole in the wall. We reported both immediately. Although they said someone would replace the bedding, the employee only handed us clean sheets and left, so we had to remake the bed ourselves. Later, management claimed we refused service, which was untrue. One of the members of my group answered the door, and the employee never offered to come inside before leaving. On our last night, the A/C completely stopped working. We reset the breaker, changed the thermostat batteries, and contacted the host immediately, but no solution was provided before checkout. The house became unbearably hot, causing part of our group, including people with medical conditions and children, to leave early. Despite these issues, no compensation was offered. A beautiful home cannot make up for poor hospitality and lack of accountability.”airbnb

“Claim to be so thoughtful of the "human touch" but just a terrible experience. Inflexible to a family tragedy even though gave them a week heads up. Homophobic and hateful.”airbnb

“We all left early. Our guest were so disgusted by the water, they stayed one night. We TRIED TO STICK IT OUT, BUT LEFT 2 DAYS EARLY, and went to Houston instead. The 979 crew told us, that's just how it was there. The maintenance person told us to look at their website for homes with a filtration system. They were aware of the problem, but had not addressed it at this particular home. We were told to go to city hall to get free drinking water. It smelled like sewage and to bath in it was so gross.. We stopped and left. We had to brush our teeth with bottled water. The windows leaked when it rained. My foot went straight thru the rotting roof deck on day 2.and the screened in porch is NOT WEATHER PROOF. IT POURED RAIN IN THE COVERED, SCREENED IN PORCH.. RUINED MY CAMERA AND A PAIR OF BINOCULARS WE HAD SITTING OUT THERE. I would never stay here again, nor would I stay in a 979 property. We stay at the beach all the time and had noticed this groups properties going up and down with rating”airbnb

“Had an excellent stay at this property. The reason I gave 4 stars over 5 is because of the pool. The photos make the pool look awesome but we were not informed until after booking that there is an additional $100 fee that you must pay the POA. Once we arrived we went to check out the pool and it was small and caged in. We opted not to use it and pay extra. The house is great. We had 2 adults and 4 teens so it was perfect size for our group. There is no place to have a formal dinner so this is definitely a beach hut. Meals are better to do family style. There was a nice outdoor patio space with a picnic table but it was quite humid to sit down there comfortably for meals in the July heat. I believe I read that there was a refrigerator in the downstairs portion. I could be wrong, but that was not there. There is not a proper place to hang any clothing. The closet on the primary suite was not accessible. We definitely loved the West End Marina bar/restaurant! Will be back to Sea Isle!”airbnb

“Arrived to find hole in wall, poorly repaired hole, broken and missing fixtures in bathroom upstairs, dirty floor and mirror in main living area, someone showed up to mow lawn 30 minutes after check in, queen beds advertised in four rooms but beds were full size and was only a mattress without box springs. Restaurant next door played loud outdoor music really late. People parking on beach blocked the view then shined their headlights into our eyes for over an hour one night. Next door neighbors were rude and trespassing constantly; looked at us like we were an inconvenience and didn’t acknowledge us.”airbnb

“We stayed here for 4 nights and had a mixed experience. The property offers a beautiful view, private beach boardwalk, well-stocked kitchen, and a convenient location near stores and restaurants. Unfortunately, there were several maintenance and cleanliness issues. After check-in, we were notified the elevator was out of service and it remained unusable throughout our stay. We found mold around an AC vent, another vent leaking condensation onto a bedroom floor, stained bedding, hair under comforters on two beds, bugs inside the microwave, and non-functioning garage doors. Privacy was limited because the bedroom glass doors lack blinds, and there were no towel hooks in the bathrooms. The biggest concern was safety. The stairs and floor are stained the same color, making the bottom step difficult to see. Several guests missed it, and my father badly rolled his ankle. This property has great potential, but the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety issues need attention.”airbnb

“The location is great! Layout of the house worked well for our large family. However, this is the only positive aspects of this rental. It is in terrible need of maintenance. There was broken/boarded up windows, which was never disclosed prior to check-in, this prevented the entire second floor to not cool. We were battling mosquitos in our upstairs bedrooms due to the broken window. The photos also depict beach front, it’s completely over water. Which was nice for fishing, but was not why we booked this home. I do not recommend this location in the condition it was rented in, nor would I recommend booking with The 979 Crew, as our concerns were not addressed.”airbnb

“This place is severely infested with insects. I rented this house for two days at a cost of $878.82, but in reality, I stayed for only a single night; I was forced to check out the very next day because I couldn't get a wink of sleep. I believe the host or the maintenance team needs to pay special attention to this issue; perhaps they should implement monthly inspections as well as pest control measures.”airbnb

“Terrible place. If you are allergic to mold or have asthma or sinus issues run away from this place. As soon as we opened the door there was a strong mildew smell. Sure enough I look up and there is lots of water stains and bubbles where water is built up it was EVERYWHERE! Mold on the windows and all over the fridge it was disgusting. I contacted them immediately and the didn’t reply until the next day 10 am. With there solution being a humidifier. Like are you serious? I let them know I was allergic to mold and have serious sinus issues. They told me that no one has issues only me and that it’s due to the humidity in the air. And they can’t paint over all the stains every time someone leaves a door open. Admitting there is a issue they just don’t properly fix it. Absolutely terrible. And they ignored me after that. I was able to get a refund through Airbnb and get out of there as soon as possible. Would not recommend this host or place.”airbnb
