The 979 Crew's guest rating of 4.68 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

“Great deck space. There’s an upper deck and a ground level deck which is nice for entertaining. The interior is in need of some TLC.”airbnb

“We stayed here for 4 nights and had a mixed experience. The property offers a beautiful view, private beach boardwalk, well-stocked kitchen, and a convenient location near stores and restaurants. Unfortunately, there were several maintenance and cleanliness issues. After check-in, we were notified the elevator was out of service and it remained unusable throughout our stay. We found mold around an AC vent, another vent leaking condensation onto a bedroom floor, stained bedding, hair under comforters on two beds, bugs inside the microwave, and non-functioning garage doors. Privacy was limited because the bedroom glass doors lack blinds, and there were no towel hooks in the bathrooms. The biggest concern was safety. The stairs and floor are stained the same color, making the bottom step difficult to see. Several guests missed it, and my father badly rolled his ankle. This property has great potential, but the maintenance, cleanliness, and safety issues need attention.”airbnb

“The location is great! Layout of the house worked well for our large family. However, this is the only positive aspects of this rental. It is in terrible need of maintenance. There was broken/boarded up windows, which was never disclosed prior to check-in, this prevented the entire second floor to not cool. We were battling mosquitos in our upstairs bedrooms due to the broken window. The photos also depict beach front, it’s completely over water. Which was nice for fishing, but was not why we booked this home. I do not recommend this location in the condition it was rented in, nor would I recommend booking with The 979 Crew, as our concerns were not addressed.”airbnb

“This place is severely infested with insects. I rented this house for two days at a cost of $878.82, but in reality, I stayed for only a single night; I was forced to check out the very next day because I couldn't get a wink of sleep. I believe the host or the maintenance team needs to pay special attention to this issue; perhaps they should implement monthly inspections as well as pest control measures.”airbnb

“We enjoyed our stay overall here. It should be noted that the bedroom with king bunk beds overlooks the living room (this isn’t immediately apparent in the photos), so please make note if you’re planning to travel with young kids. We visited on the last weekend in May. The mosquitos living in the bushes/palm trees on the property made trying to enjoy the outside of the house challenging. We used amble mosquito spray, but they were relentless. We certainly enjoyed the beach - access was about 6 houses down. Overall, the house had what we needed, but we will likely stay elsewhere next time we go to Galveston.”airbnb

“The home would have been worth the cost but the furniture is dated and dirty, the tub and the sinks are not functioning properly. Bottom line the place needs maintenance and upgrades. Water was brown I could not tell if the house filtration had been changed if at all … dishes were rewatched before use bc of residue on all the dishes.”airbnb

“Terrible place. If you are allergic to mold or have asthma or sinus issues run away from this place. As soon as we opened the door there was a strong mildew smell. Sure enough I look up and there is lots of water stains and bubbles where water is built up it was EVERYWHERE! Mold on the windows and all over the fridge it was disgusting. I contacted them immediately and the didn’t reply until the next day 10 am. With there solution being a humidifier. Like are you serious? I let them know I was allergic to mold and have serious sinus issues. They told me that no one has issues only me and that it’s due to the humidity in the air. And they can’t paint over all the stains every time someone leaves a door open. Admitting there is a issue they just don’t properly fix it. Absolutely terrible. And they ignored me after that. I was able to get a refund through Airbnb and get out of there as soon as possible. Would not recommend this host or place.”airbnb

“Our stay was just okay. The house was clean, instructions were clear, and checkout was a bit much (requiring drive out trash removal). However, a few issues impacted our experience. After booking, we were asked to provide IDs and minors’ names, which wasn’t clearly disclosed upfront and felt intrusive (especially since Airbnb already verifies guests). The host allowed us to skip minors’ names but still required ID. Communication was good before check-in but dropped after. We asked about an EV charging outlet and didn’t get a response for nearly two days. The biggest issue was undisclosed construction next door. We were woken up at 8 AM by loud noise that shook the house. This was not mentioned beforehand, and responses were vague to this annoyance. Overall, while the home was clean, the experience lacked transparency and consistent communication. I would not book with a management company again.”airbnb

“The Honest Family Review The home itself is new and beautiful with very comfortable beds and a nice kitchen. We also enjoyed the neighborhood park and the nearby fishing spot. However, we encountered several significant issues that made our stay difficult as a family. Major Issues: The gas and breakers were off when we arrived, which meant my kids had to take cold showers after the beach on our first night. Additionally, the door would not lock from the outside. The lockbox was already open upon arrival, and we had to use a different lockbox just to secure the home when we left. Despite this safety issue, the hosts later called us questioning why we hadn't used their (non-functional) lockbox. Cleanliness: The floors were visibly dirty and the couches were stained/dirty. While a mop was provided, there was no floor cleaner to actually use. Some of the blankets also did not smell fresh. Although the listing mentions a pull-out couch, we couldn't find one, and the couch needed a cleaning”airbnb
