My New Braunfels Vacation in San Marcos, Texas

“This river house is OLD and is need of major upkeep. We have stayed here 2x before, the last in 2020. Things have declined. Good - It was river house clean. Kitchen was sort of stocked, pots and pans terrible though. Property manager is super responsive and had some solutions!! Neighborhood is private and quiet. River is nice, but not really accesible. Bad - AC could not keep up at all, we had to bring in personal fans and it was still 75 most of the time. Because the AC was struggling, the humidity was high inside. Beds are awful. Pillows are pancakes. Couch is ancient and saggy. Toilet leaked (maintenance guy came out and we chose to deal with water on floor and they changed toilet after we checked out). Scorpion in tub, maggots by back door. Overall, its like camping indoors with some bugs, high humidity and heat, and awful sleeping. We will never stay here again. At least the property manager was responsive the entire stay!”

“Location of the home was great. We enjoyed the back porch and proximity/views to the water. Renting a water front property however, should allow easy access to the water and that was not the case. Feel that has not been attended to in quite some time. The chairs are broken and missing cushions, the firepit is broken & the grill was missing. All of these things that just don't present a relaxing, outdoor experience when it is such a massive beautiful space. The kitchen overall was filthy; stove, pans, utensils, etc. Microwave was also broken. It lacked supplies you would expect in an AirBnb. Overall, the space accommodated our needs but feel the home needs some serious attention for the price you pay.”
