“Felt a bit expensive for the size and quality.”

“The resort grounds are located in beautiful Ponderosa Pines close to Keystone and just a block from a very nice restaurant. Some of the newer and larger cabins look very nice. This cabin is an older, rustic, pet friendly cabin. The bathroom area and walls showed considerable wear and tear with some hairline cracks in the sink and some dings and paint chips in the drywall. This unit has a fridge and microwave, but no kitchen area. I enjoyed the loft, but the stairs are steep — great for kids but not so much for older adults.”

“Close to Mount Rushmore and Crazyhorse. The Steam train ride was very nice.”

“Our stay at Holy Smoke was fine. It was a cute cabin, but we found it not very comfortable in terms of the furnishings. If you are only staying overnight or 2 nights this place is perfect, but we were here for 4 nights. There are not any couches or reclining chairs to kick back on and relax after being out all day exploring the beautiful surroundings. There also is a fridge and a microwave but no real way to cook anything else. Even having a toaster or an air fryer would have been nice. The area is perfect though; so close to pretty much everything that we wanted to do. Both Keystone and Hill City were super cute quaint towns that were so walkable once you got there. There is also a Taproom that we discovered that had live music on 2 nights that we were there. Overall, a nice place but feel maybe for shorter stays!”

“Just a basic basic cabin. Not worth the money. Go to a Motel 6. A cabin should have some kitchen supplies. Bowls, plates, silverware…..nothing. A microwave big enough to fit a coffee cup. Terrible internet service. TV rarely got reception. 4 towels for the cabin. No where to put supplies…..table, dresser, nothing. Would not recommend to others. Many places to go for more for your money.”
