“I arrived exhausted and excited for my stay, but the property was nothing like advertised. The bed was dirty, the house was full of dust, and there were none of the basic items they listed—not even a welcome message, coffee, or clean water. The refrigerator was extremely old, rusty, and moldy, and I even found someone else’s underwear in the bed, which smelled used. The host said they would fix the issues, so I waited the entire day and ended up losing two nights with no resolution. My babies, who have allergies, were affected by the dusty environment, and the house looked neglected, inside and out. I had to wash the bedding myself just to sleep. In the end, I left because my long-awaited Thanksgiving weekend was completely ruined. This was not my fault; the home simply wasn’t prepared for guests.”
