“Please read before booking with this host! We had a long anticipated 3 nights family vacation over the new year. When we arrived at the house after a long trip, the home was uninhabitable. The indoor temperature was around 35°F because the heat was left completely off by the host. Outside conditions were freezing with extreme wind. The baseboard heating system warmed the house extremely slowly, and the fireplace (listed as an amenity) could not be turned on using the host’s instructions. They didn’t even leave the pilot light on for fast turn on. Despite a promise to dispatch a technician to fix the fireplace noone arrived. We waited over 2 hours in our car to stay warm, after which my husband went to fix the fireplace himself using YouTube videos and spending an hour on the cold floor. It took the house until 10pm to warm to over 65 degrees, while we got in at 5. The front door smart lock did not work during the entire stay, requiring us to enter through a secondary door, then let th”
