“We had a wonderful stay in Black Butte during Memorial Day weekend. The home had beautiful views of the forest and we saw deer as well as little bunnies. The home was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The beds were comfy and I loved the duck feather pillow so much I’ll be ordering one for myself. I would love to return later in the summer to really explore Black Butte Ranch. Three days were not enough.”

“I was very disappointed with Avari’s management. Not only did we not receive the check in code until 1.5 hours after check-in, how it was handled was miserable. I messaged them probably 8 times between 3:40 and 5:00. After about the 4th or 5th message, I called them. When I called it was completely automated and I sat on hold for almost 10 minutes and never talked to anyone. I had to call Airbnb and even THEY couldn’t get ahold of them. We had to go to dinner since we couldn’t use their kitchen and finally I received a very unsympathetic one line message around 5:30pm “Hi. There should be a back up lockbox and the code is xxxx”. This was on Memorial Day weekend mind you! There wasn’t a hotel or anything available for miles!!! Had we not received the code we probably would’ve had to stay in our car or book somewhere out of town. Upon checkout I asked if we could at least checkout a couple hours later. That seemed fair to me. Their response was generic and automated. Avoid Avari!!”

“Black butte is a family favorite! My husband’s family has been coming for 40 years. This home was fine. Nothing special compared to other homes. But you get what you pay for. Main level bedroom was right in the open, not very private with the exception of a closed door. Bathroom security handle in shower was faulty causing my mom who is disabled to lose her footing (she’s okay thankfully) The kitchen was pretty well stocked, but missing a few key items (olive oil and can opener) Public pool liter lay in the backyard, thankfully wasn’t yet open for the season. Lovely back patio!”

“We enjoyed our stay in Black Butte and the weather was great. The deck overlooks the pool, but luckily it was closed during our stay. The only issue we had was that there was a woodpecker pecking on the side of the house in the early morning several days of our stay.”

“Overall, great stay. BBR is awesome, but so expensive. This little house was surprisingly affordable! The check-in was tricky; the lines in the emails where the entry codes were supposed to be were blank, so we had to call to get the lockbox code for the key to get into the house. Thankfully, the phone # was easy to find, and someone answered promptly even though it was after 8 pm. Inside was exactly as described, save two surprises: 1) All the dead ants on the floor--granted it was ant season, in a forest--so we appreciated the effort to maintain appropriate ant killers around the house so we didn't walk into live ants everywhere! 2) None of the air conditioners worked. All bedrooms had the same unit, and we couldn't get any of them to work despite changing batteries, resetting them, and looking up the model online to troubleshoot. Otherwise, we LOVED the back deck, kids LOVED the loft, and it was a perfectly functional space for exactly what we needed! Would stay again for sure!”
