“I booked this day as a house with nothing on the page saying that there was gonna be people above us keeping us up all night and people right beside us as well. Going in and out. The location itself isn’t bad there’s stuff to do around but the house needs maintenance and it needs to be in the description that it’s not a full house to yourself. It’s definitely not worth the price to be kept up all night. Not only that, but there was no hot water and if there was, it was only warm for a few seconds the floors were disgusting as well as the tables. I’ve never written a bad review on Airbnb or thought about wanting to request money back, but this makes me want to. Rockaway Beach was an amazing town in the location of the Airbnb is in perfect walking distance. It just needs to be advertised that there’s other people staying around you and they need to clean it. I travel a lot and this is the first place that’s made me think about getting a refund. I would’ve just spent my money on a hotel.”

“This is a hard review to write. The location was absolutely stunning. The unit however is in dire need of some TLC. The cleaning that was done was adequate, but it looked like the cleaners left before finishing, with laundry still in the machine and one bunk bed unmade with the mattress thrown on the floor.”

“This Airbnb is run by a property management company that is hard to get ahold of if something is wrong. We showed up to a dirty home, leaking kitchen sink and unaware that the house in the picture is actually a triplex so people will be coming and going all hours of the night. While the management company relented and gave a partial refund they did not want to and lied about contacting me to try to fix the issues during our stay. Hopefully they at minimum have real cleaners and maintenance folks come through before their next guests arrive. I would not recommend staying here again.”

“- Absolutely gorgeous spot - Plenty of parking - Quiet - Loved the location - Wifi worked - Utilities worked. Plenty of blankets - When we entered the bedroom with the bunk beds, it reeked. We thought it was due to the age of the carpet/closet. The musk was coming from one of the top bunks. I don’t know who, but, one of the top bunk beds reeked of, to which we found, old urine that was not cleaned properly. We did get a response, however, their response was to spray it with some cleaner (we found a fabric refresher out, but they said they used carpet cleaner), but on the wrong bed. We were told we were going to get additional care updates but never did, which sucked because that bed was gross. - There’s not enough dishes. - The place was overall not that clean - This may not be inherently the Airbnb fault, but the building’s fire alarm kept going off and we were forced to evacuate, after talking to other tenants, this seems to be a reoccurring issue. So keep that in mind.”

“The good is the location – you can walk out your back door and be on the beach to go for a walk or watch the sunset. Apart from that the place has almost none of the charm of a typical beach vacation rental. Almost no decorations, old and rundown furniture, and just generally low quality stuff. Has the bare minimum of basically everything. Was a bit gross in terms of cleanliness. It had been cleaned, but not particularly well. Don't make the mistake of looking between the cushions to see if you've left anything. Basically gave the impression of putting in the least amount of effort to own and run a vacation rental.”
