“If you’re looking for peace, quiet & seclusion, this place delivers. Set back from the road via a long private drive, the lodge feels immersed in nature. The grounds are peaceful, with a river running through them. Most rooms have balconies where you can enjoy the sound of the flowing water. The lodge is spacious, with 4 double bedrooms & an additional double bed on a mezzanine above the library. The master has an en-suite, alongside 2 further shower rooms & a separate toilet. The open-plan kitchen/dining/living area is perfect for socialising, with a large open fire creating a cosy evening atmosphere. A separate TV/games room provides extra space to relax. The lodge was clean, well equipped & had excellent Wi-Fi throughout our stay. Due to location you can’t walk to any amenities, but by car it has easy access to hiking trails in the Siuslaw Forest & is only 15 mins drive to Pacific City on the coast. Big recommendation for a place to eat is Pelican Brewery which has sunset views.”

“The views and surrounding area are absolutely the star of this property. The living room and kitchen have breathtaking ocean views that made even relaxing at the house feel like part of the vacation. The house itself could use some TLC. We encountered mold on the ceiling, carpet in the bathrooms, several lights that didn’t work, dead remote batteries, and nonfunctioning curtains in the primary bedroom that unfortunately blocked its ocean view. None were major issues individually, but together they kept an otherwise incredible property from feeling as polished as it could. I’ve found this is often the case with properties managed by larger companies rather than individual owners: the big things are covered, but smaller details get overlooked. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful location, and with a little more attention to maintenance, this could easily be a five-star property.”

“Easy to find and get into with the code. Walking in the door, there was an unpleasant aroma of urine permeating the lower level of the house, all throughout the living room and kitchen. The kitchen sink smells something awful. There is a direct view into the lower bathroom window from the neighbors balcony, privacy film would have been very helpful, as would the window at the top of the stairs, again, the neighbors can look right in if they wanted to. There was sand on parts of the floors and dust on the display shelf. The road noise was terrible, we chose the smaller bedroom to alleviate some of the noise. The bed very comfortable. Only sheer curtains on the living room windows and nothing on the door. We couldn't find the backyard hiking trail that was stated in the description. It's only a half mile to walk to restaurants and coffee, but it's a very, very busy road and we chose not to walk on it. We ended up leaving a day early because we couldn't handle the smell. Steep stairs.”
