We had a great stay at Rumbling Ridge on Macedonia Road and really enjoyed the beautiful views. My family had a wonderful experience overall. We specifically chose this property because of the river access, but we did not realize that you have to hike down to reach the river. We were traveling with an 11-year-old and a 4-year-old, and the hike was too difficult for the younger child. This was the only thing we disliked about the property. I do think the listing should explain the river access and the difficulty of the hike a little more clearly so families know what to expect before booking. Other than that, we made the most of our stay and explored the surrounding areas. We went tubing, swam near different waterfalls, visited Lake Lure, and enjoyed many fun family activities. We had an amazing time and created some great memories during our trip.

We just got back from a stay at Rumbling Ridge in Saluda, North Carolina, and it was absolutely amazing. The cabin is beautiful, peaceful, and exactly what we were hoping for. If you’re looking to truly unplug and enjoy complete privacy, this is the place. It’s very remote, and we barely saw another person the entire time, which made it even more relaxing. Just a heads-up for future guests, the driveway can be a little intimidating, especially if you’re not used to mountain roads. We’d recommend a 4x 4 or a vehicle with higher clearance to make it easier. The only minor issue was that the water temperature in the shower was a bit inconsistent at times, but it was small compared to everything else. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely come back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful mountain getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hose was beautiful and perfect for lazy days. When we wanted to be more active we could hike the trails in the property or travel a short distance to many hikes. Downtown Saluda was cute and had many good restaurants options, and Hendersonville had the closest major grocery story and an adorable downtown only 20 min or so away. Perfect home base.

Our family (2 adults, 3 kids, 2 Goldens) had the best stay at this beautiful retreat. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The house was incredibly comfortable, spotless, and stocked with everything. The area is breathtaking - peaceful and private with beautiful landscaping. We spent every evening grilling dinner, enjoying the hot tub, and making s'mores around the fire. One morning we even saw a bear stroll by - a memory we will never forget! The kitchen was a dream and made cooking a joy. We also appreciated that there were actually more bathrooms than we expected. The game room was another huge hit and got plenty of use throughout our stay. The location couldn't have been better. We chose this home because it was central to the colleges we were touring with our oldest, yet it still felt like a secluded mountain escape. None of us wanted to leave. We've stayed in many vacation rentals, but we genuinely can't wait to come back here!
