Manager Review

Carolina Mornings

Carolina Mornings's guest rating of 4.80 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

We dealt with a broken lock for over 2 weeks of our stay. The house was great, equipped and conveniently located Although dog friendly owners there was no yard for the pups.

Beautiful home, the whole family was pleased with the home and location. Our only frustration was the limited dishwasher solution. They said they give you one load, but my mother-in-law had to add water and swish it around in the bottle to even make one load. If I’m paying for four nights, please just give me 4 pods of dishwasher detergent so I can do dishes for our stay of 8 people. We also had to buy more toilet paper. Just come prepared I guess. Only challenging with a family coming in from a flight with kids.

We've stayed at this resort many times over the years and this was the worst unit we've stayed in. It is clear that it is treated simply as a money maker and nobody actually cares for the unit. Not only was practically all the decor inside original to the building (20+years old), but some of it may have never been dusted. The floors were not cleaned well and there was trash left from the last visitors. I had to buy a hairdryer because the one in the bathroom was broken. The floor lamp in the living room was broken. The lampshades in the bedroom are so gross. Random splatter stains on practically every wall. Super dusty fans. One set of bedding had a gross stain and the blankets looked to be decades old. The view from here can't be beat, being on the 16th floor is the perfect level. Gorgeous sunrise, dolphins and pelicans dropping into schools of fish... All the wonderful things we love about the Ocean Walk. If this unit were properly cleaned and updated it would get five stars.

Perhaps the worst Airbnb ever. I think the host should visit this property and see what type of home they are actually renting. I was looking for rustic charm but not a dank basement smell from the moment I stepped out of the car. The interior had the same smell and poorly lit interior. The description mentioned a low yield well but we got in late night flushed the toilet 3 times and had literally no water. We called Carolina Mornings emergency number, yes a late arrival but we had no water. The promise of a call back never happened until after 9 am the next day. I was hoping the mildew smell would disapate overnight but it affected the two others I was with as they have allergies and health issues. The Carolina Mornings representative offered a maintenance visit and a dehumidifier to help. There was one in the house that I dumped twice overnight (that shouldn't be a guests responsibilty). We abandoned the rental the next morning as a heath concern for the other 2 in my group.

The place was very large and the view was great. The pictures of the houses condition on Airbnb do not match the actual house though. Pool liner is ripped all the way around and held together with tape, front door handle is broken and held together with tape, trash was overflowing all over the driveway when we arrived and for at least 2-3 hours until someone showed up to clean up. Place smelt horrible due to that. Woke up to tons of ants inside the house every morning and tons of wasps flying around the backyard. Reported this all to the host and was told “too late”. They also don’t supply a basketball or putter for the court and putt putt area, but don’t tell you that until you arrive. Obviously no big deal but they the place is expensive, it’s not much to ask. At the end of the day, it is what it is but I wouldn’t have booked this place for well over $1000 per night if I had any idea it would have been in that shape. I picked it because pictures made it look amazing - it’s not.

Area was beautiful very hard to access though also they say pet friendly but there is absolutely nowhere to take your pet to the bathroom the house itself is also nice but not well kept at all spoon arrival there were hair balls on the ground and on the curtains floor was not swept there was left behind trash including wrappers of personal use items.. a sock and the carpets all look very dingy they tried to charge me $200 for a carpet cleaning fee when the carpet was stained before I arrived I did bring my dogs so I’m sure there was some added normal traffic wear and tear there as to be expected all and all the housekeeper need to do a better job and not blame the the person who is paying a large amount of money to stay there

OUR WATER TURNED BROWN. On the second day of our stay all water in the house turned brown and smelled like rotten fish. I have pictures I would like to include but AirBnb doesn’t let you submit pictures. When we were looking over the things included during our, wifi was clearly included, but in the details they said that wifi was not included. After the water turned brown, the owner of the property called us and we told her that the water was brown, but she just brushed it off and started telling us about how to work the shower. We spent most of the end of our trip thirsty and had to buy water just so we could have something to drink. We were trying to contact someone to speak to them but with the lack of wifi and how bad the service was, it was extremely hard to contact anyone.

After a very long trip, we arrived to find that the door code provided did not work. As a result, we had to wait outside in the rain for nearly an hour with an elderly person, children, and a dog. We called the emergency number and spent about 45 minutes on the phone troubleshooting, resetting the panel, trying different lockbox codes, and attempting to reach the property manager. Eventually, we were given the correct lockbox code and were able to enter the house after 10:00 pm. This made for a very frustrating and stressful start to our trip.

I would never do business with Carolina Mornings again. they are rude and awful to deal with. We had a 6 day rental and they told us the morning of check-in they only supply minimal supplies for 2 - 3 days. 1 roll of Toilet paper and paper towels. You are supposed to bring the rest from home. You are only allowed 6 trash bags for a place that sleeps 10 people. And no trash barrels to put the trash in. You cannot put it outside because of Bears. You are supposed to leave the smelly trash in the kitchen all week. For the cost of this property, it should come fully stocked. It is a beautiful house and the 5 bedrooms with 5 full baths made it easy to have 5 guys in the house. But if i were the owner - i would fire Carolina Mornings.

The home itself was nice, however upon arrival there was what looked like makeup stains, and company requested I pay for it. Upon explaining this was there at arrival, they closed the request, I just didn’t appreciate the accusation of causing stains that were not made by my group. 7 years of using this platform and i’ve never experienced this before. Lastly, I would not stay here if you’re a POC, as their next door neighbors fly a confederate flag high in their yard. Made me feel unsafe, especially given the seclusion of this area.
