OUR WATER TURNED BROWN. On the second day of our stay all water in the house turned brown and smelled like rotten fish. I have pictures I would like to include but AirBnb doesn’t let you submit pictures. When we were looking over the things included during our, wifi was clearly included, but in the details they said that wifi was not included. After the water turned brown, the owner of the property called us and we told her that the water was brown, but she just brushed it off and started telling us about how to work the shower. We spent most of the end of our trip thirsty and had to buy water just so we could have something to drink. We were trying to contact someone to speak to them but with the lack of wifi and how bad the service was, it was extremely hard to contact anyone.

After a very long trip, we arrived to find that the door code provided did not work. As a result, we had to wait outside in the rain for nearly an hour with an elderly person, children, and a dog. We called the emergency number and spent about 45 minutes on the phone troubleshooting, resetting the panel, trying different lockbox codes, and attempting to reach the property manager. Eventually, we were given the correct lockbox code and were able to enter the house after 10:00 pm. This made for a very frustrating and stressful start to our trip.

I struggled with this review. Upon checking in, the cabin was quaint but not the cleanest and every dish in the kitchen needed to be rewashed. I've never seen knives so dull. There were no "kitchen essentials" as they reported. Just salt and cumin. There is awful water pressure and not a good enough hot water heater for the 6 adults they say they can host. The "bbq grill" is just a camping stove where you light a fire under a grate. It is a beautiful location. There is minimal cell service which is perfectly fine with me if there had been internet. Carolina Mornings was slow too respond (which is hard considering I barely had service) and saw no reason to actually help us fix the internet. We had no tv, wifi, or music streaming. I never would have chosen this cabin knowing it didn't have reliable wifi as they stated. This place is not worth the money compared to the tons of other options in the area.

We had three big issues. The first was that the space had huge temperature regulation issues. The listing made it sound to me like they had provided what was needed to keep the place comfortable but it wasn’t so. The first day we walked into an 80+ degree house. The A/C is in the bedroom facing the bed and not the rest of the house so it was impossible to cool the house down until the temp outside actually cooled down. The first two nights I actually slept on the couch because the AC was so loud and the temp too cold without covers and too hot with them. When I called Carolina Mornings about this issue they very cheerily told me they were sorry for the inconvenience. So I never saw them as people who would provide any real help. So we just made do. The water was also brown which made showering, brushing teeth and washing fruits and vegetables less than a pleasure. And finally, there were some pretty basic kitchen supplies missing, like a can opener and a spatula/scraper.

I would never do business with Carolina Mornings again. they are rude and awful to deal with. We had a 6 day rental and they told us the morning of check-in they only supply minimal supplies for 2 - 3 days. 1 roll of Toilet paper and paper towels. You are supposed to bring the rest from home. You are only allowed 6 trash bags for a place that sleeps 10 people. And no trash barrels to put the trash in. You cannot put it outside because of Bears. You are supposed to leave the smelly trash in the kitchen all week. For the cost of this property, it should come fully stocked. It is a beautiful house and the 5 bedrooms with 5 full baths made it easy to have 5 guys in the house. But if i were the owner - i would fire Carolina Mornings.

The home itself was nice, however upon arrival there was what looked like makeup stains, and company requested I pay for it. Upon explaining this was there at arrival, they closed the request, I just didn’t appreciate the accusation of causing stains that were not made by my group. 7 years of using this platform and i’ve never experienced this before. Lastly, I would not stay here if you’re a POC, as their next door neighbors fly a confederate flag high in their yard. Made me feel unsafe, especially given the seclusion of this area.

The house was decent enough. We booked specifically for the hot tub amenity to which was unusable due to excessively loud filter trying to suck in the water. The hot tub also had an off odor and debris in it to which we inquired about the chemical dispenser being empty. They sent a "tech" out to inspect the hot tub as well as to replace batteries in a chirping smoke detector. The tech entered the residence without notifying us which felt strange. He also okayed the hot tub to which the odor remained, dirt was cleaned out and the filter was still excessively loud. We could not use the amenity out of concern for skin infections and the loud filter making. it the exact opposite of relaxing. The host offered us an insufficient "refund" and I am awaiting Airbnb to make this correct.

Check your bed linens carefully! There was blood on both the fitted sheet and the comforter in the master bedroom. Also the towels and wash cloths smelled sour. We opted to buy our own sheets and wash cloths instead of using what the host provided. Once the trust is lost- it’s hard to get back.

The house was enjoyable and as advertised. Carolina Morning was not great to deal with. Our cars were iced in, we notified the host and they allowed us extra check out time. We decided to stay an extra night bc we didn't want to risk an icy driveway. The host said he could not extend 1 night as the computers only allow 2 night stays. He then told me to put our rear wheel drive cars in a low gear to make it down the ice or that I could also call a tow truck to tow us down the hill. All instead of figuring out how to extend by 1 night. He gave me Airbnb support number to see if they would extend the stay for one night but said it was not likely because it was past our check out time. Called support and they were great, they contacted the host. The host claimed they weren't contacted by Airbnb and pressured us about resolving the situation. Airbnb assured us they were attempting to contact them. Airbnb told us the host had the ability to extend the stay 1 night the entire time.

The location was great. House needs repairs. Fireplace downstairs didn't work someone did come out to fix the next day still remotes or switch didn't work to turn on and off. noted in previous review this is an on going matter. Carbon monoxide detectors started beeping non stop. Reported it to company was told to unplug someone would come out but they never did. If you want to use a fan at night in main bedroom bring your own or you will sleep with the lights on too. Don't know who would wire a fan and lights together on one switch. the place had a bad odor when entering which we brought candles to help with that . Carpet in the living room looks dirty place is an older house if you like that comfy feeling. I ask for some compensation considering i spent two days out of three dealing with issues. they offered 75 dollar credit if we stay with them again. no thanks . resort was nice we did enjoy that .
