“We appreciated having a place to stay, but unfortunately there were quite a few things that could have been better. The home was very rustic, but it was not as clean as we expected. There was hair in the master shower, visible dust and dirt under the couch, a dirty stove, rusty silverware, and a strange smell throughout the home. The kitchen was well stocked, which was nice, but there was barely any room for our groceries. For a week-long stay, we were also only given one trash bag. The grill was a major safety concern. It was not cleaned from previous guests, and when we preheated it, the grease caught fire. Thankfully we put it out quickly, but having a grease-filled grill chained to the house was concerning. There were also screws and nails in the driveway, rusty beach chairs, and broken umbrellas. The AC worked well and the home was somewhat comfortable, but overall there were too many issues. The listing photos also appeared much brighter and polished than the home actually was.”

“Great location and host was very communicative. However when we arrived, there was a noticeable odor like dog pee. The host was very responsive and sent someone the next day to clean it up and cleaned it up fairly ok.”

“The location was just perfect in every way, just a minute walk away from the beach and close to great restaurants and places to see such as Roanoke island, and plenty of water sports to do.”
