“I am not one to normally complain or give bad reviews, but I felt being honest is best. Not what was pictured. Completely obstructed views, couldn’t see a single mountain - just a wall of overgrown trees. House was dirty, kitchen faucet broken, AC broke on day 2, bathroom toilet broken… not at ALL worth what I paid for a week in the mountains. They were responsive and fixed what they could, but definitely not worth the price I paid. There is also a point of over communication and the week leading up to my stay was quite annoying with all of the text messages.”

“Black Mountain is a great town to visit. Montreat is beautiful and feels secluded, but still close to town. So, for us, location was an A+. We had a great stay overall, and I give it a 5. Check-in was easy, communication was extensive, and the place was clean and easy to live in. However, note a couple other reviews - it could use a little bit more loving care. Yes, the rug edges are rolled up. Yes, there are a couple areas where touch-up paint is needed. But those things did not detract from our enjoyment. A maintenance item more significant to us was that decks need to be sealed. They have weather damage in some areas, so be careful with bare feet. And yes, the driveway is steep. But, unless there is ice, the low gear of any car should get you there. A plus and a minus - the house is totally surrounded by trees - a totally green canopy in the spring. But, the beautiful green surroundings blocks some of the distant mountain views. We would rent it again”
