Our stay at Rocky Top Log was restful just like we had hoped it would be. Staying in the cabin felt like I was staying at a relative’s house so we felt like we could relax. There was more room at the cabin (inside and outside) than I was expecting which was great. Maggie Valley was the perfect little getaway. Small town feel with lots of cute shops and places to grab a bite. And so many surrounding places with so much to offer.

It would have been perfect if there was an additional air conditioner. Other than that it was great

The good: We overall enjoyed our stay here, loved how tucked back it felt and that we got to see elk on our morning walks. The view from the porch is lovely. Maggie Valley is beautiful with lots to do and good restaurants nearby (Maggie Valley Breakfast Depot was our favorite spot!). The cabin was very clean. The bad: I did not appreciate that the listing said there would be A/C only to arrive and find no A/C, considering my stay was in July. The host has since fixed the listing, so hopefully this doesn’t happen to anyone else. It was uncomfortable in the house, but it’s well shaded so with fans running and windows open it wasn’t too bad. Make sure to bring your own trash bags, paper towels and toilet paper as only one of each is provided in the home. Also, the door nearest the entry gate is hard to lock/unlock. Overall this is definitely a nice place to stay in the spring or the fall but I would not stay in the summer.
