It was clean and comfortable and met the needs of our larger group. We were serving at a retreat at the Lake Junaluska conference center and the location could not have been more perfect for our needs. Communication was good and the home was well maintained. It is an older home, so there is character (note that does not mean anything negative). We enjoyed it and will be back.

The host was unresponsive, and I was required to sign multiple agreements after completing the booking. Although the listing was advertised as an entire home, the lower level is occupied by a full-time renter, and it took until the next day to receive clarification on this. As someone who works remotely, the frequent internet interruptions were a significant issue. Additionally, there was an ant infestation throughout the house from day one, with ants present in every room. Based on this experience, I would not choose to stay here—or with this rental company—again.

This 1st part is only about the host. There is a person that lives in the basement. The host doesn't disclose that in the details. I hope they do now. Not just that but they also lied about it when I asked and then I caught them in a lie when they mentioned a tenant in the house rules and asked them what it meant, they did not answer me the truth until the free cancelation window closed. Also when we stayed there, I asked where do I find the heat/cool control. They responded with one word. "thermostat." yes, that is what I am asking about...but where is it? So if I see Vacasa as a host in the future, I will not book it. Beautiful place, beautiful view, there are some steep stairs in the back if you want to go down to the lake, but it was too much for my knees so I just drove down which was less than a minute. Checkin was easy, Checkout was easy, they dont expect you to start a load of clothes or take out trash, we did that anyway just because we dont mind helping.
