“Although we require & requested a handicapped accessible unit we were not placed in one. We communicated beforehand what our needs would be: •one floor •first floor •handrails in bathroom •stand up shower our unit had none of these accessibility accommodations There are no elevators & we were placed on a second floor unit; only accessible by an outside stairwell. These outside stairs & their railings are quite old, in need of repairs & out of code in accordance with the ADA Americans with Disabilities Act). There are many nails & splinters sticking out of bowed wood on stairs, handrails, platforms & window casings. My husband received numerous cuts on his feet & ankles while struggling to climb the stairs. I would certainly hesitate to recommend Properties by Preston as a host. They provided misinformation & were not completely transparent ahead of booking. On the contrary, Airbnb has been extraordinarily communicative with us, eager to assist in any way possible.”

“Three stars is generous. Folks were friendly, but the price was way too high for what we got. A previous tenant was clearly a smoker, it’s visible on the walls in the bathroom and the whole place is smelly, especially the washer/dryer area. All our clothes now smell like cigarette smoke. Definitely not a fully equipped kitchen. No microwave, and we had to buy a baking sheet (which we left behind for future guests, plus a cutting board). If you’re planning on preparing food, know there is really only a basic pot/pan set and a block of really bad knives. The toilet wasn’t working for our whole stay (the flapper was broken) and though they said they put in a maintenance request, no one came. We had to use a pot to manually fill the tank every flush. The dumpster is about a quarter mile walk, so taking the trash out was a huge hassle. And finally, if you do stay here, say hello to our friend Gavin, the resident cockroach whose grave lies in the vent directly above the bed.”
