Overall, I would rebook again and I would recommend this listing. Location was very convenient and relatively close by the hikes our group wanted to do, we all slept well, we cooked and ate together, it was cute and cozy. We did have to clean the bathroom ourselves as the toilet wasn’t pleasant and the shower had debris. Moreover, we had to install the window AC units and dismount them ourselves. We felt it was a tad bit overpriced ($625/2 nights) for the low effort from the host. The home should be completely clean; however, the washer/dryer, pool table, and hot tub did make up for the problems we had with the place.

The home itself was very nice and well maintained. One thing to be aware of is that the driveway is quite steep, so having an AWD vehicle is definitely helpful. Check-in was delayed, as the cleaners were still working in the house until around 8 PM. Although the home was generally clean, there was still a bit of dust in some areas. The WiFi unfortunately did not work during our stay. When we reached out, we were advised to restart the router, but we were unable to locate it in the accessible areas of the home—possibly it was in one of the locked rooms or closets. On a lighter note, the lack of WiFi did help the kids spend less time on electronics.

Pros: The house & beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace with wood provided. Kitchen was well equipped, although calling it a "Chef's dream" is a stretch. The loft was great for our 11 year old daughter. Great variety of games. The construction of the house is amazing. Rooms are spacious. No clutter. We felt safe once we got a better feeling of the area. Cons: No drapes on the living room windows. Felt exposed when a man was fishing across the river. The view across the river is abandoned houses. We think the cause of the abandonment is Hurricane Helene. The road was washed out right above the homes. You cannot communicate with the host through Airbnb app, instead you text their them. We wanted an hour late check out, and had to pay $30. The process to pay was not easy. It gave us check out until 2 though, but we only needed an hour. Road across the river is noisy in the evening and morning. 5 stars because the house was comfy, clean & really neat looking.

Great place to stay, there was activities galore, and the location is very cozy. Rental company was pretty responsive and took care of a minor inconvenience immediately. Very close to Beech mountain, which was here we intended to go.

First of all, when we checked in the house was not clean at all. There was trash, dirty bed sheets, unorganized and dirty bathrooms and hot tub. It was also really cold in the space and they did not offer blankets nor additional space heaters. They were very slow to respond to requests and had ask multiple times in order for them to respond.
