“We love staying here. Nice quiet area and great house.”

“The house was great, we were in the area to move our child to Western. The only issue I had was the steepness of the drive and small parking area. I had a trailer with my daughters car. Everything else was as advertised and expected.”

“We hate that we are unable to give a positive review for this stay. The chief reason was the intensely foul smell of the home’s tap water. It was so strong that if the taps were turned on, the whole room would smell like rotten eggs. We have stayed all over W. North Carolina many times and have always enjoyed drinking straight from the tap, so this was a very unpleasant surprise. Obviously it’s not just drinking, this issue extends to washing hands, brushing teeth, taking showers, etc. VueStay (the host) mainly sent bot responses, and an unannounced pop-in by their agent, though she was nice, was more frustrating than helpful. Also, 3 of the 4 fabric couches were so stained/dirty that we needed to use our personal towels, which we couldn't wash because of the foul water, to cover them. It was a disappointing stay because we've had many in WNC over the last 15 years and have had, to my recollection, zero complaints. The waterfall is very nice.”

“Place was great - super views, very private and isolated. You need a 4x4 - the private roads up to the house are extreme. VueStay didn’t warn about two gates and needing a code. No cell service at gate, had to drive 15 minutes to lake. Not great support helping and assuring a strategy to get past the right gates. Delayed our entry by 2 hours pushing a dangerous first drive to after dark. Dryer decided to fail (which was fine) but VueStay couldn’t manage a repair (not ideal - we dislike returning home with dirty laundry). We did enjoy the area immensely. Great sunrises. Nice hikes from the house. Cool waterfalls and hikes in easy driving distance. Reserve boats early if you plan to rent at the lake.”
