Carolina Retreats's guest rating in North Carolina of 4.60 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract. The location and view were amazing. You could not ask for a better spot and was close to public boat ramp and restaurants. We loved being able to bring our boat and tie to the dock (lift is not allowed). The house is NOT stocked with much (one trash bag, one dishwasher pod, NO dish soap, no shampoo, etc) so be mindful of that. The water here is also very hard. We had our newborn and trying to clean/sanitize the bottles was impossible because of the residue. We had to go out and get water jugs. The only other pain was the rental company sent out instructions using 3 different platforms (Airbnb, email, and some 3rd party website). It was rarely the same content so trying to find out where the rules/ checkout instructions were was annoying because you had to look in three different spots. The airbnb posting has very little of the "rules" posted - be ready for a super long rental agreement with tons of other rules and then more terms via email.

Carpet needs to be replaced on stairs, there are numerous stains. Dirty under couch. No water pressure in 3rd floor bathroom and hall bathroom, hair in shower in hall bathroom. Chairs in living room are too hard to sit on.

We loved the location. It was close to everything and easy walk to the beach. The sunset on the canal is picture perfect. I was under the impression there was a grill avaiable for use and it was locked up so we weren't able to use it. You need to bring all your own beach supplies such as towels, sand toys, chairs and wagons. There is nothing supplied for the beach. There was a stale smoke odor in the house and the master bedroom TV was broke on our arrival but other than that it was a wonderful place to stay.
