We have stayed at Marsh View Escape the past two years, but this year under Carolina Breeze Vacations by Casago was a completely different experience. Communication was a major issue, as they preferred texting instead of keeping concerns documented in Airbnb. We reported the master bedroom light not working and were repeatedly told it was fixed, but it never was. The hall tub would not hold water for our three-year-old, and the stopper provided was for a kitchen sink, not a bathtub. The child’s bedroom had a noticeable marijuana odor. We also found bugs in both bathrooms, dirty floors, a loose master headboard, sheets that would not stay on the bed, and very worn, uncomfortable pillows. They did not respond in Airbnb about the light until around 10 a.m. on checkout day, after we had already left at 7:30 a.m. Based on this year’s experience, we would not stay here again or feel comfortable booking another Casago-managed property.

Don’t stay here or rent from this company. The place was not cleaned before our stay. We found dirty sheets, comforters, towels and a dirty bathroom. A used q tip was found on the floor. The AC doesn’t work upstairs. Outside is a vile, damp, moldy storage room that makes the entire property, inside too, smell like mold. The property has bug issues (ants, cockroaches) and they were outside, in the kitchen, in people’s bedrooms. We asked for a second trash can, the only one there was a non-city can. It was not taken on trash day and when we requested pickup a city can appeared. We were told that would take too long. A sewer line broke while staying and we couldn’t use the water. They never informed me when it was fixed until I asked. The office was rude, unhelpful and lacked urgency to solve problems. I had to ask twice for towels and was rudely told to wash them. I was gaslit that we didn’t see cockroaches. I was told to close the blinds and the AC works. Don’t waste your money here.

Overall a really good stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. The pool was beautiful and very enjoyable for my whole family. There were a few “annoyances”. One of the bedrooms is in a separate apartment efficiency downstairs. This was primarily an issue because it was not explicitly disclosed in the description, and it was the room with bunkbeds - so we had a 5 year old sleeping downstairs with no direct access to the house that didn’t involve going outside. The efficiency even had a separate access code from the main house that wasn’t proactively disclosed to me before check in, so I had to call to get this separate code. Cleaning crew also didn’t finish until 10 minutes after my check in time. Lastly, a “good” problem, but the house had more cooking/kitchen amenities than advertised. The description led me to think there was practically nothing - even mentioning to bring my own cooking equipment that we didn’t end up needing. There was also a grill that wasn’t advertised.
