We had a great experience at this property with our family. Lots of space and very kid friendly. We loved the home’s architecture and amenities.

1) The digital lock would not accept the code provided. It didn't work throughout our stay. 2) Secondly, I went to the patio and found a completely rusted out grill. Unserviceable. 1/2 inch of rust chips mixed with grease inside the grill. 25% of burners worked. 3) SPA: Water was so cloudy you couldn't see the bottom of the SPA. Serviced. 4) Email to CC did not work. Telephoned agent and was told to send email. Third call finally produced a person that helped ASAP. Hooked me up with a maintenance person (Kevin Martin) who saved the whole trip. New BBQ grill next morning, serviced the SPA, fixed the lock. Worked for a day. 5) Table on the lanai had a dirt/food crust on it. Was told cleaners don't go out to the lanai. 6) Pots and pans marginal. Floor plan of the house was perfect for 7 people.....4 adults/3 children 11 to 17. It would have been perfect if Carolina Cabins would inspect before a client came rather than react to complaints from the new renter.

This house worked for what we needed, but could use some extras. Namely, the porch is not covered (except where the grill is), so it was hard to enjoy the outside space. The home also didn't have any "extras". While certainly we don't expect a stocked kitchen, it would have been nice to have a few things to make the stay more enjoyable (coffee for the first day at least, more paper towels, tissue, garbage bags, etc). The plus is that the area is beautiful and it is easy to get to town.

The cabin was beautiful as well as the view. However, it was unclean when we arrived. There were stains and visible dirt on the floors and carpet. There was trash from previous guests in the cabinets and stuffed under the furniture including food wrappers, used tissues, and beer cans. There was hair and visible dirt on the bath towels that were provided. We were also provided with only one trash bag for 9 people to share over four days, and the outdoor trash cans were already full. This was a very nice house, but it isn’t being fully cleaned.

We were so excited about spending our first wedding anniversary at Wolf River Retreat, unfortunately very early on we realized we wouldn’t be able to stay at the property. A King bed was advertised (one of the reasons I booked it), and a Queen bed is what was in the room. It was also very hard - it would have hurt to sleep on the bed. The cabin was really cute on the inside - but there were rat droppings on top of the cabinet, and one of the exterior doors would not lock. We did, thankfully receive a full refund (after advocating for it), but these things need to get fixed before I could recommend this Wolf River Retreat. A good rule of thumb, if there are only two reviews, you might want to book some place else!
