“Our typical stay in Cape Hatteras is four months out of every year - two months in spring and two months in fall. We are blessed to have found a property in Frisco, thanks to Airbnb, where we've been staying exclusively since 2021. I am a remote worker, and we live on the road full time. This spring, due to an extended job search, we decided to break up the visit, save some money, and booked the initial two weeks at a local campground. To my surprise, I landed a new contract right as we were coming onto the island, and then had to scramble to find a rental so that I'd be starting a new job on the right foot. With very little notice, we were able to secure this property, and it was everything we needed. Full kitchen. Solid Wi-Fi. Lots of room. We'd never stayed outside of Frisco, or on the sound, but found Avon to be very nice. In a pinch, we went with Airbnb to book, and they definitely take their cut. Next year, I'll book directly with Seaside Vacations. The team in Buxton is awesome!”

“Second time staying at La Casa Del Pollo Loco. Great location in OBX. The house is always clean and has many different areas to hang out. The kitchen it well equipped. Access to the canal is cool for stand up paddleboard and kayak launches. There are multiple coffee shops , bakeries and restaurant withing walking distance. Beds are comfortable and the internet is stable.”

“Booked last minute for a family vacation! The description was accurate. Loved the location! Loved the house! We were 10-20 minutes from everything we wanted to do. We prefer to venture out and eat in. All of the amenities! The most well equipped kitchen out of any home away from home we have stayed. The walk to the beach was short and quick. It is easily accessible. Great place for kids ranging from 19 to 11 months. Would recommend to anyone traveling with their family to make the memories in the OBX!”

“Great location, really nice house and everything you need just around the corner. We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the location — it couldn’t have been more convenient. Communication before and during our visit was great, and we appreciated being informed ahead of time about the hot tub and washing machine repairs, as well as the effort to send someone out. That said, for the price point, we were expecting a higher level of cleanliness and readiness. The main bathroom had hairs that weren’t ours, and the living room floor didn’t feel fully cleaned. There was also no hair dryer provided, and only two rolls of toilet paper for the entire stay, which made things a bit inconvenient. We had to put the linens on the bed ourselves or had the choice to pay for someone doing it for us. No beach towels were provided. Overall, we liked the house and the hosts’ responsiveness, but a few improvements in preparation and amenities would make the experience match the cost.”
