The house is beautiful, Not to mention the views that are breathtaking. However we did have some problems with mice, heat, and lack of amenities during our stay. If you’re planning on staying here for sure bring some oil, seasonings, etc if you’re planning on cooking. Thankfully they did provide portable fans that helped out a lot, especially since at night it gets pretty cool.

Very cool house, extremely unique. A lot more maintenance and cleanliness required. Previous issues by other renters reported in reviews apparently not addressed. Family of 8 spent first night cleaning mouse poop and dirty floors in every single room of the house and calming scared kids for mouse in their bedroom. House was not stocked up according to description. Missing smoke detectors, exposed wiring, non-working dishwasher, oven door doesn’t close fully, field mouse infestation(owner was responsive and set traps). Airbnb was responsive to issues but the process was drawn out during the whole vacation at Yellowstone and took a significant portion of our attention and enjoyment during our family reunion. Hard to find such a truly creatively designed home.

Between the heat, the mice and the smell, this was a truly awful experience for our family. The house advertised both air conditioning and ceiling fans. Neither were present. It was 90 degrees when we walked in this house. Management completely unhelpful. Asked me for a picture, told me the house "should have" A/C and sent instructions for how to turn on the heat(?) I highly doubt the management has ever walked into this house. Told me they had to contact the owner to ask if it had A/C. The mice invasion began at night. Mice running through the living areas, the kitchen and the bedrooms. I presume the mice were attracted to the horrible smell coming from the garage. Dishwasher didn't have any power. Oven didn't fully close. Floors were filthy with dirt. I'm still unsure if it is safe to drink the water. Some reviews say it isn't and there's a filtered water station in the kitchen. Management probably has no idea if it's safe or not. You cannot imagine how bad this was.

The cleaners were still cleaning at our check in time and we had to wait for them to finish. The back yard/fire pit area had trash left behind, empty cans and such. The house is very whimsical and my kids really enjoyed the game room, altho it was not highlighted on the listing. It was a pleasant added bonus. The kitchen was well stocked and perfect for cooking for all of us. We enjoyed all the amenities and walks around the neighborhood. The view is spectacular. We enjoyed our stay!

At a large family gathering we arrived to find (1) the beds were inaccurately described (it said two king on the description but there was only one); and a much bigger deal - (2) there was NO Water. The house apparently doesn’t have a well and requires the cistern to be filled up. This was not done before our arrival and we had to work with the property managers to get the neighbor (who was very kind) to bring us a truckload of water at 9pm. We ran out of potable water on day 2 and had to drive 20 minutes to the closest store for water. This is not disclosed on the description. At $1300 a night, with 14 people, this is a really big deal. Our last big issue is the lack of blackout curtains…. in summer in Montana that is a crime. And while the house is itself is pretty remarkable, there is a lot of maintenance on this house that needs to be done. The setting is beautiful, the stars are amazing and the hot tub/sauna were great, but I would not rent this house again given the issues.
