“This review would have been a 4.5, but the lack of hot water was a major disappointment. Not only did it take a long time to get hot water; but it was never HOT!! Beautiful home setting, but cheaped out on providing an assumed amenity. Ruined out day when we wanted to shower. I feel like we should receive a 20% refund.”

“Overall great stay at this Airbnb, would stay again! Would also recommend to friends. House was spacious and well decorated. Location close to everything (Union Pier, New Buffalo, Michigan City, highway). The access to the private beach across the street was AWESOME and probably the highlight. 1 star off for minor things that were not up to par that were mentioned in other reviews - upstairs shower clogged / did not drain, sheets in master bedroom stained (but clean), hair in the primary shower. We really struggled with difficult locking mechanisms for all the sliding doors (~10 in total!) ... actually one of them was unlocked upon our arrival which is how we entered. All minor things that definitely did not cause a problem for our stay at all, but should have been ironed out beforehand esp with prior reviews mentioning these issues. (The dishwasher was functioning for us). Overall these small issues did not affect our stay, we did not have to reach out to the hosts. We would return!”

“First, the house is great. The fenced In back yard is park like and peaceful and the screened in porch is terrific for relaxing. Everything was clean and as described and the location is great, we love Union Pier! Only giving four stars, instead of five, for two reasons: first, the house, particularly the primary bedroom, has a musty moldy smell, which may be because the dryer does not vent and the house becomes very humid when you run it; secondly, on our last night, the mini-split ac/heater units were either preprogrammed or remotely accessed to turn on to their preferred winter temp of 62 degrees. The host didn't respond to messages about this and it was a little uncomfortable on our last night. All in all, great place though!”
