“First of all, it was very dirty home. Porch was not cleaned from so many months. Kitchen was having leftovers. There are lot of bugs, cockroaches and spiders. Those could be very harmful for my small kids. Also the door was locked to connect basement unit to first floor unit. I asked for key on very first day after discussing around an hour. I got key last day of my stay when I was about to leave. There was to much trouble for families to go lower unit by completely coming outside in night to sleep and go by outside door. Overall it was very disappointed and frustrated stay.”

“We’ve stayed at several Airbnb locations in US and out of the country. I have never ever written a negative review of a property. We have been staying at Boyne Mountain for years in several different styles of accommodations. I feel it is necessary to write this review so the next person does have a repeat of our experience. We arrived at 4:45pm ( check in was listed at 4pm). Once we found are unit we noted a bag of trash and a bag of linen outside the door on the ground. The outside area (small cement patio) was absolutely filthy with 2 broken dirty chairs and a rotting unsafe wooden bench. There was dirt and tree debris everywhere and a long dog leash stretched across the area. The entire threshold to the sliding door was rotted wood full of ants that were crawling all over just inside the door. The screen door was rotten and filthy. The home had a strong unclean odor and there were large amounts of human hair in clumps on the floor. Save your money and stay anywhere else.”

“The host was not well informed regarding heat/cooling controls. We were unable to control the cooling of the unit, and as a result the air conditioner ran cold (65 degrees) throughout our stay. There was a note on the wall regarding temperature controls on the baseboard heating units, but they did not go on as indicated and the air conditioner ran constantly, with no way of changing the temp of that unit. There was some minor repairs needed in the unit and the mattresses were not very comfortable. Otherwise, the unit was clean and overall comfortable. As for price, the daily charge was acceptable but a bit high.”
