“Although the photos made it look sparkling new, the property actually is quite tired. The bed in the master bedroom has a wooden plank under the mattress instead of a box spring (hello college!), and the mattress was very saggy. Much of the furniture and the cabinetry was old and chipped. In addition to central air, the bedrooms have window units, so you are unable to get any fresh air, and the windows that were able to be opened were very difficult to open and it was clear from the debris that no one had cleaned them in awhile, if ever. The shower caddy in the master bedroom was placed in such a way that you could not move the shower head, so you had to move over to almost the wall to get wet. The stoppers In both bathroom sinks did not work well enough to maintain the water level, and the towel rack in the 2nd bathroom fell off the wall. The outdoor table and chairs were absolutely filthy, and the table rusted. A fuse blew and we had to root around in the basement to reset it.”

“The home is exactly as described in the listing and in an incredible location for Barnstable. There is a ton of space to spread out and our family never felt on top of each other. A few issues that prevented the stay from being the best it could be though. The kitchen countertops were oddly high, everyone in our party noticed immediately. This made food preparation slightly uncomfortable for some of the family. All the faucets and showers took a long time to get hot, more than 10 minutes sometimes. Not sure if it is a water tank issue or just standard operation but everyone wasted a ton of water just waiting for their showers to get warm. While there is sleeping for 8 the living room only has seating for 4 or 5, and the main dining room only seats 6 or a crammed 7. Most of the lights are dimmer switches and a lot of the them flickered when on. I think we all just expected a little bit more for the cost of this stay.”

“Overall this place was good, just a bit of an odd layout. Bedrooms 3 and 4 are up a very steep set of stairs. The master suite also contained the fridge/freezer and the washer/dryer. There was also a musty smell coming from the master suite.”

“The home was nice but could use some updates. Dirty shower curtain liner, grill didn't work, outside cushions on deck are dirty. Dishwasher had some issues. Other than that we enjoyed your stay. Home was good for our family and dog. Location was convenient to getting to places. You could not walk anywhere though, so you need a car”
