“The oceanfront location is exceptional, with beautiful views and the wonderful sound of waves. We appreciated the balcony seating, excellent AC (even upstairs), nearby bus stop, and thoughtful extras like bug spray and a stroller. Unfortunately, the interior fell short of the relaxing retreat advertised. Walls, rugs, upholstery, and shower curtains needed cleaning; mattresses were uncomfortable; and the kitchen was sparsely equipped. Harsh overhead lighting and no screens on sliding doors also detracted from comfort. Sound carries clearly from adjoining neighbors and along the interior stairs. I realize insulation isn't an easy fix, but noise-sensitive guests should know that privacy and quiet are limited. Overall, the shortcomings added up. This is better suited to guests seeking a beachfront base to sleep, shower, and change than a comfortable place to spend time indoors. The property offers an exceptional ocean view, but not necessarily the peaceful experience that view suggests.”

“We stayed a weekend in off season. It started off with the electronic lock not working. I arrived and the screen on the pad wasn’t working. I was able to contact the host and they sent someone who opened it. They said it does automatically lock when you shut the door and that they did not have a physical key to give us. The person who let us in said someone would come the next day to fix it and that never happened. We couldn’t lock the main door when we left for the entire stay. There are also major brown stairs on the white carpet in one of the bedrooms as well as the air vents being extremely dirty and dusty. Overall the whole place needs a deep clean and gone over. Lots of little things like broken trim, broken blinds, outdoor furniture in rough shape etc. all throughout the house and property. The second day we also found a huge ant problem in the kitchen. They offered to spray but we declined while we were there and didn’t feel safe having spray near our kids. Not worth the money.”

“I had a few issues with this rental 1. Pet fees should be included in the list price once you say you are bringing pets. 2. The owner should stop trying to communicate outside airbnb, and don't ask for more money (for things like a pet fee) without going through air bnb 3. Even if there are additional fees, don't wait until your guests are probably driving or on their way there in some other manor to hold out the check in instructions until you get more money from them. It makes it very difficult and unsafe to put in a credit card number on the road. 4. The smart lock was a pain to use and inconveniently located on a door that is off to the side. All of that being said, the place was clean and the listed amenities were there. We still enjoyed our time but it started on a very very sour note.”

“Location is great however nothing in listing notes the location is in a flood area or bar being 50 ft from property. Downstairs neighbors blasted music every night till after 2 am we were there, literally vibrating items in the unit. No heat in unit and no blankets provided, temps were in the 50s. Property was not clean, mold in shower, shower curtain nasty, dust, dirt and hair everywhere. Blinds broken through out. Holes in interior walls, paper towels filling in holes to outside, dirty rugs, all furniture dirty, no mattress pads just plastic bed and sheets. Dishes all dirty, sink didn't drain. Property should be condemned not rented.”

“We booked Bluevista for Oceans Calling 2026. The festival was cancelled due to flooding from a nor’easter. Bluvista would not accommodate a cancellation even though all of south OC was under water and the roads were all closed.”
