I booked with Tides to Pines for my boyfriend's family and I and everyone was SO happy with how lovely the property and accommodations were. It is truly a relaxing place to be and especially lovely just a bit outside of Bar Harbor where during this time of year can be so busy. We saw wildlife both in and on the river and some lovely wildlife on the property. We loved it here and would absolutely stay again! Thank you so much for our stay!

This house had amazing views of the bay from almost every window of the house. It was very private at the end of a dead end road. The bay shore was Rocky with a good amount of seaweed so bring your water shoes with you and it did have a pretty fast current. Two of the three bedrooms were upstairs where they converted the attic into two rooms. They did not have doors on the rooms so make sure you like your neighbor in the next room. Also, It had a very narrow steep staircase to get to the two rooms. Both bathrooms are on the first floor just so if you have any people that can't do stairs well. Our biggest downfall was we were there some of the hottest days of summer so it was 90° both days and the upstairs did not cool off till 10:30 at night to be able to go to sleep. Also ,there was no AC downstairs and they had no curtains on the windows. so when the sun was setting in it really heated up the living room. So, if you're going when it's hot just keep in mind there's no AC.

This is a cute little cottage right on the water. We enjoyed the view - watching the tide go in & out, beautiful sunsets, and being somewhat secluded from other properties. If you're looking for a base for Acadia - this is a peaceful place not far from the park to come back to at the end of a day of exploring & enjoy a water view. Pros: Incredible views, simple cottage. Location was ideal for our trip to Acadia - super easy to drive in and out each day and access the Schoodic Peninsula one day. Cons: This is labeled as a 3 bedroom home. Be aware the upstairs "bedrooms" are a loft separated by a cat walk with no doors or barrier for privacy. I would not call them bedrooms. I am 5'8" & could only stand at the very center of the room without hitting my head. My husband hit his head multiple times being cautious. The stairs are also quite steep to get up to the loft - definitely not ideal for small children or older people. AC is 2 window units upstairs & heat is baseboard.
