“We stayed at the cottage for two weeks this July/August where we had a wonderful time. The view over Southwest Harbor is spectacular. It was like being on a bridge of a boat at sea. One member of our party had difficulty walking and spent a lot of time watching over the changing tides and birds and boats which was enchanting. The rest of the party climbed the mountains in Acadia and swam in Echo lake. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and it was lovely to sleep in such peaceful surroundings. We've been coming to Mount Desert Island for many years and stayed in nice cottages, but this was the best of all! Our hosts were very helpful and we thank them forthe lovely experience. “This house was wonderful for our family of four with two teenage boys to stay in Southwest Harbor. The location was perfect being right on the harbor and was close to downtown, Acadia, and Bar Harbor. We rented bikes for the week from Southwest Cycle, which was a great way to explore Acadia and the Cranberry Islands. There was plenty of room at the house for us to gather for meals and socializing as well as multiple spaces to go inside or outside when we needed alone time. The house has a unique history with the quintessential quirky Maine architecture and design that brings back childhood memories of summers in Maine. Highly recommend!”airbnb

“I honestly could not recommend this home more. Southwest harbor is by FAR the nicest place to stay if you want a sense of peace and quiet and also have a fabulous walkable town with the ocean quite literally lapping under the deck. there are no shortage of nice amenities in town, with 4 coffee/expresso shops, 2 bakeries, a fantastic lobster pier with music, several nice pubs, at least 5 nice gift/local art shops ...all within walking distance. Take the car, and triple the eatery options. A very large (for the island grocery store is 1.5 miles away). The very close coast includes the lighthouse, many awesome hikes (either flat to the coast or up the smaller mountains of Acadia) with very little of the awful traffic of the main section of Acadia or Bar Harbor. The home is quaint, charming, bright and beautiful and sits literally in the water at high tide. We LOVED kayaking and paddle boarding at dawn with rented boats delivered to the door from Acadia Paddle.”airbnb

“This home was absolutely beautiful. It was so cozy and peaceful. The home was exactly as described, very clean, and checkin was really simple. It was an easy 20 minute drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. There were lots of restaurants and coffee shops in walking distance and the village of Southwest Harbor was lovely to explore. My children especially enjoyed the wildlife…ducks, loons, deer, all kinds of birds. Thank you for such a lovely place to stay! I would absolutely stay here again.”airbnb

“We absolutely loved our stay at the cottage. Even more amazing than the pictures - very idyllic setting, quiet area but close to all that Acadia has to offer. Would definitely visit again!”airbnb
