“We had an enjoyable stay at the cabin, and just a few changes would push it to be a 5-star stay. The cabin was easy to find, and I had no trouble getting to it without AWD/4WD (even on a rainy day). It was very private while still being just a few minutes from Miguel’s, Thatcher’s, Natural Bridge State Park, etc. The space was wonderful—the two bedrooms were spacious and the kitchen table in the middle of the cabin was a great spot for board games. We also loved the hot tub. My suggestions for improvement: The seating options were not super comfortable. The leather sofa from the listing photos has been replaced with a pretty hard couch. There was room for a cozy chair that would have been great to curl up in with a book. We loved having a grill, but there were no grilling utensils. A simple pair of metal tongs and spatula would have been a welcome addition. Overall, a really good stay.”

“Beautiful cabin with great amenities. Super trendy and cute. But beware of the horrible management. Beware of the roaches. And beware of the unsafe “road” conditions trying to get out of the property. I rented this property for a lowkey girls weekend for my sister’s bachelorette. We were so happy with the cabin and space upon arrival and had a great first night using all the amenities. But the next morning is when it went all downhill, literally. Due to lack of maintenance to the VERY steep gravel hill, used as the only entry/exit point of the property, we got stuck at the cabin. The recent rain and lack of gravel on the hill had obviously caused issues for previous renters and there were large holes and muddy divots. We immediately contacted the management and they were very unhelpful and inconsiderate. We completely missed our prepaid kayaking trip that morning. The management was rude and wasn’t going to offer us any compensation for having to call a tow truck.”

“The cabin is beautiful! Very nice inside. Definitely not easy to get to, but you can’t expect to be in the mountains and have an easy road.”

“This cabin was a nice, cozy, private location which was exactly what my fiancé and I needed as a weekend away to take our daughter hiking. The cleaning crew was unfortunately just arriving around the same time we were so there were several spider webs throughout the home, a bag of aluminum cans under the sink, and several mud dauber nets along the decking. I also feel like the inconvenience of this location was under played…. The cabin is down two very steep gravel roads and sits in a valley. It rained quite hard one of the days we were there and my fiancé’s car had significant trouble getting out.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the founders cabin! I will say though when we first arrive it smelled extremely musty which worried me, however; we turned on the a/c units in each room which seemed to help a bit. Also the water was all running brown at first but after the first couple hours being there it ran clear (perhaps it had been sitting for some time before we arrived). Additionally there were some disappointments from uncleanliness (hair on the bunk bed, a wet/stickiness on the bottom of the slide, the towels smelled terrible) but nothing I couldnt clean/wash myself. My toddlers (3 & 1) LOVED the kids room bunk beds and toys! I will say I would highly recommend bringing at least one baby gate if you plan on coming with small children. The stairs going up to the loft are EXTREMELY steep and quite the stresser while having little climbers with us. (Even I, as an in-shape mid-20 year old, had to walk down the stairs with extreme caution). Everything else was amazing though!”
