Lovely home nestled in the foliage with sounds of birds in the morning, and lots of frogs in the evening. The first time I came to BI I fell in love so enjoyed coming back. I feel so at peace. Easy walk to black sand beaches. Great place to unplug from the world.

I don’t know if I’ve ever enjoyed an Airbnb as much as this one. The architecture and layout of the house are perfect and make you feel part of the tree canopy. It’s the kind of place that is tough to leave in the morning and wonderful to come back to. Our family of four had plenty of comfortable space to relax when we were back at the house. We loved the outdoor showers, and we loved sleeping to the sounds of the rain and the coqui frogs. If you like natural surroundings, you’ll love this space.

This house is an absolute work of art. From the unique design to the abundant windows to the landscaping to the local artwork on the walls, it is absolutely stunning. The view of the tree canopy is truly unique. Even though there are neighbors all around, this house feels completely secluded thanks to the brilliantly designed landscaping. The open air concept allows you to feel immersed in nature and the sounds of the rainforest are the icing on the cake. The rainforest sounds are so loud at night but in the best possible way that makes sleep easy. We were a little caught off guard when we arrived and noticed a car parked under the house but soon learned the owners leave it there when off island. I feel like reviews always say “it’s the best Airbnb ever” but from all my travels, I can honestly say Hale Ohia is the coolest and most unique Airbnb I’ve had the privilege of staying in. If you are like me and spend hours reading reviews trying to decide, book now! You will not regret it.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Zuki house. Beautiful house with lush green surroundings and an ocean a stone's throw away. You could enjoy the sunrise either from the balcony upstairs, attached to the loft bedroom or the huge patio downstairs. The hot tub was very nice, my daughter enjoyed it very much. All the required amenities were taken care of. You should note that there is no central A/C, but it is mentioned in the ad. We found that not to be an issue as we only got home after dark and the window A/C unit upstairs was sufficient. Make sure to plan ahead with all your groceries/late night snacks as the house is 6 miles from the business intersection. But all of this was communicated well. Also, get ready for bugs on the ceilings and here and there in the house. But I grew up visiting my grand parents who lived country side, so this is all very familiar to me. Overall, if we visit the big island again, we will absolutely consider staying again at the Zuki house.
