Hawaii Vacation Condos by Outrigger in Koloa, Hawaii

“We had a horrible experience with Hawaii Vacation Condos by Outrigger. We arrived at night and the 2 bedroom condo was nothing like the one in the photos on AirBnB. It smelled musty and one of the beds had a strong urine smell so we could not use and our teenage son had to sleep in our bed with us. The entire unit was run down and dirty. We left the next morning and had to scramble to find a new place, and they tried to charge us for cleaning fees of the disgusting condo. Eventually they did not charge us for the cleaning fee and said the unit owner would not do anything about the cost of the disgusting unit. If that is the case then neither outrigger or Airbnb should be representing this unit. We’ve stayed at plantation before and love the area but will never book a unit managed by Outrigger again.”

“Older property, in a good south shore location . Has everything a couple would need. Take note that the pool isn’t located on site but is across the street. This particular unit #47 is located close to the back of other hotels so it was noisy in the early am due to truck deliveries. The bathroom needs some upgrades for the price point of the unit. We enjoyed the lawn and beach area at sunset and the close proximity to nearby hotel restaurants.”

“Traveling with two toddlers, and this was a great spot! The view can’t be beat and the building is a hidden gem. Additionally, the air conditioning is consistent throughout the home. Chairs and a few toys made our beach visits enjoyable. Side note: the chairs do not come with an umbrella. We would love to return in the future!”

“Our stay was very disappointing despite great stays at other Outrigger properties. We booked the unit specifically for a ground-level. It notes unit would be ‘similar’ to photos. After booking, we learned this did not mean our unit would actually be ground level. I called & explained stairs weren’t an option for medical reasons, but told a request could be noted but not be guaranteed until arrival. We also booked an ocean-view unit. Unit was in the middle/back of property w/ a ‘peek’ of the ocean, as the actual ocean view units blocked the ocean. The biggest issue was the pests. Numerous wasps on our lanai made it unsafe to enjoy. They came w/ a can of wasp spray. I contacted front desk again the next day & explained the amount of wasps was unacceptable as my son is allergic & at risk for anaphylaxis. I was told I would be contacted and no one ever followed up. Inside the condo, I also photographed termites, drain flies, beetles, red ants & spiders. Wasp hives all throughout property”

“The condo is convenient for those who want a kitchen. The lawn on property is beautiful. The condo itself could use a deep clean, the bathroom walls had considerable dust and stains as well as the shower itself. The mattress on main bed and pull out couch could use replacing. There was a bit of noise in the room at night, portions of the walls were like shutters which is great for nice surrounding sounds but lets a lot of car/traffic noise in as well (this condo was near the back/Main Street). The pool is across the street and not really on property. It’s a beautiful spot and snorkeling outside the property was great.”
