Hawaii Vacation Condos by Outrigger

Hawaii Vacation Condos by Outrigger's guest rating of 4.65 is below average and may adversely impact performance. Some of this can come from specific properties they manage — but where reviews point to manager weaknesses (responsiveness, cleanliness, listing accuracy) that would apply to your home too, they can adversely affect your bookings and the quality of guests you attract.

This was our first trip to Maui, and while we had a great vacation overall, our experience with this rental was mixed. The location was beautiful and convenient, but we felt the property was overpriced for what was provided. The internet was extremely slow and unreliable throughout our stay, making it difficult to use. For a 10-day stay, the supplies provided were insufficient. There wasn't enough shampoo or conditioner, and when we requested additional trash bags and toilet paper, we never received a response. We've stayed at several vacation rentals in Hawaii, and many provided thoughtful extras such as cooking oil, ample coffee, and better-stocked kitchen essentials. This property lacked many of those conveniences. Overall, the location was great, but the limited supplies, poor communication, unreliable internet, and overall value for the price left us disappointed.

Pros - Great Location Cons - The inside of this condo is in serious need of maintenance, entry door has a lot of splinters on it, kitchen missing screen, very old uncomfortable furniture, poor lighting, lamp in living room was dirty and appeared to have roach droppings on it, metal dinning room chairs are rusty and uncomfortable, no beach chairs, walls needs repaired walking up stairs to second floor with exposed paint coming off, guest toilet small and low (better to get larger toilet for adults), the kitchen was not fully stocked, had to make salad every day out of a pasta pot, no Tupperware, no salt and pepper, one of the blinds broken in dinning room. After a couple of days we went to the property management and mentioned all the above things to and she told us that it's the owners responsibility to fix those things. We didn't feel heard, no immediate solutions were offered, until we took it up with Airbnb to get a partial refund, fixed blind, got salt and pepper and Tupperware.

Overall the location was fantastic, we loved the view and the pool being so close to our room. Communication prior to arrival was great. After that, I was disappointed in how the condo was represented online. The living room looked nothing like the photos, different furniture/decor in several places and certainly wasn’t as nice as pictured. The condo needed a good cleaning, many areas were very dirty, had bugs piled up, and the patio was black with dirt in the table, chairs and floor. We didn’t have enough supplies to clean it ourselves. Towels were provided, but not many and only beach amenities were four beach towels. No chairs, cooler, umbrella like other units. TV’s never worked. We tried several times to turn them on without any luck. Screen doors on sliders and all unkept, and very dirty, so we didn’t use them much either. Overall, the condo was not as advertised, and could use some TLC for future renters. I asked them to update photos, as current ones are incorrect.

Overall, my family and l enjoyed our stay. However, I am very not pleased with airbnb not communicating well with the condo about our arrival. I believe since l booked through airbnb, airbnb should have totally been responsible for insuring that my communication with airbnb was passed on to Outriggers Condos!! As a result, I do not think l will be using this service again…

Great place to stay on the north west side, lots to walk to nearby. Place was described well and pictures matched the condo. Had issues with keypad multiple times, took them 3 trips to listen to our issue, which was frustrating, but they finally replaced the batteries in the entry handle and that fixed our issue of getting locked out.

The property was beautiful and conveniently located to several restaurants and a grocery store. The views from the upstairs lanai are stunning. The community is very quiet with a nice pool area. The only negative was having to check-in at a hotel a couple of miles from the property. They also took a credit card which I have never had to provide at an Airbnb.

Kiahuna Plantation is an excellent accommodation with the beach access, towel service, athletic club access. The unit was a bit outdated and could use some maintenance/updating. Carpet, countertops, and appliances should be replaced. My husband had to fix the beach umbrella, the rain umbrella and a couple of the coolers were broken and should just be thrown out.

Unit 318 is in disrepair. De laminating doors, rusty refrigerator, rusty plumbing fixtures, dirty. We suspect a mold issue in the bathroom, the smell was noticeable and unpleasant. We left a beach chair and umbrella for the next guests as none were provided. We had to use bug spray at night as the screens let mosquitoes inside the unit, no AC.

The room was beautiful and clean. The double bed bedroom did lack a bedside table for 2nd bed, which made charging phone and drink placement difficult. Biggest issue was the internet not working the entire visit. No one in my party was able to connect, and my sister had to leave us, to complete work, at local coffee shops (where they had wifi) most every morning. Spoke with main office and owners, but issue was never resolved. Otherwise, stunning location and resort
