Severe sleep disruption—left after one night. The unit’s location and conditions were not accurately reflected in the listing. It sits directly off the highway and next to a main outdoor walkway with constant foot traffic immediately outside the bedroom window. Combined with older windows, this resulted in significant noise throughout the night. A bright exterior light also directly impacted the sleeping area. These issues were unrelated to the daytime construction mentioned. We reported the issues and were instructed by Airbnb support to vacate with a promise of a refund. We relied on that and checked out early, but the refund was not honored despite multiple follow-ups. An on-site manager acknowledged these noise and lighting issues are common complaints. Cleanliness and comfort were also below expectations. Would not stay again.

The view from the balcony overlooking the water was unmatched! Having breakfast every morning on the balcony was a highlight of our trip. This apartment has a full kitchen and dishwasher, but we did have to get oil for cooking and the only seasonings were salt, pepper, sesame seeds, and balsamic glaze. The do provide 2 beach chairs and a very sturdy beach umbrella along with a boogie board and snorkel gear. We did find that the mattress and pillows were lacking - a mattress topper would definitely help! The laundry was easy to use, but takes quarters only. We loved staying in Kapa'a - the area itself was vibrant and walkable with many local shops and eateries very close by - and being centrally located on the island made travel to the north shore and Waimea Canyon very easy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Review: We stayed at the Islander on the Beach for 5 nights/6 days. They are individually owned condos. The host, Vacassa, managed the units we stayed in. The location in Kapa’a was great and there were lots of food/shopping/activity options within walking distance. Unfortunately there we had two very problematic issues. 1). We were checked into the unit and AC was not working. 24 hrs no AC. Eventually we were able to switch rooms. 2). Towels. We ran out of towels and could not get clean fresh towels delivered until the morning we checked out. We hiked and beaches daily. Not having fresh towels or place to launder was horrible. Comminution was all AI generated, very frustrating. 5 nights no fresh towels. 😔

We enjoyed our stay and absolutely loved the location. Being able to sit on the lanai with coffee each morning was one of our favorite parts of the trip. The beach, bike path, coffee shops, and restaurants were all within easy walking distance, which made it incredibly convenient and enjoyable. The studio itself was clean and had everything we needed during our stay. Some areas showed their age and felt a bit dated. Nothing was dirty, but appeared so at first glance because of the property's age. The biggest downside for us was the sleeping situation. The pillows were very flat, and the mattress was very firm, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. We also found that noise carried quite a bit from the unit above us, and we could hear nearly every footstep. If you like to prioritize sleep, you may want to consider a top floor unit if one is available. It would be nice if owners could invest in some new pillows and possibly even consider a mattress that is not quite so firm.
