Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals in Ellijay, Georgia

“Unfortunately, this stay didn’t match the listing or our expectations. The photos don’t show how busy the river is, with hundreds of people tubing by all day, yelling, and even walking up the stairs to reach the road. The lack of privacy was disappointing. The neighbors were also a major issue. We were yelled at on the first day for supposedly speeding, even though we were following the posted limit. On the Fourth of July, we set off a few small fireworks at 9:30 p.m., before the listed 10:00 p.m. quiet hours, and were cursed at by the neighbor afterward. With no blinds in the living room/kitchen, it felt like we had no privacy. The downstairs requires a separate entrance and code, which wasn’t clear in the listing. The house also felt much smaller than expected, and we found three large palmetto bugs inside. We left a day early because we no longer felt comfortable. For nearly $400 a night, I expected a more relaxing, private, and accurately represented stay.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was space for everyone to have privacy. Loved all the porches. It is in a beautiful spot and we definitely plan to return. It is a great meeting spot for our family!!”

“I want to start off by stating this location was a great place to stay. Next to the river, the property and amenities were great, but it was the little details that caused some issues. For one, when we arrived, one of the smoke alarms kept beeping, the shower upstairs was broken, and we couldn't get some of the TVs working. The biggest issue was related to the A/C. The house seems to be heavily blasting AC downstairs and almost none upstairs. As a result, evenings were extremely humid and warm upstairs 78F or higher with no end in site. meanwhile, the downstairs /basement was freezing cold. The maintenence crew eventually dropped off fans on our last night there, but only after sending two maintenence crews. The property had a lot of algea growth outside on the furniture, and the weeds on the property were everywhere with lots of over growth next to the bank to on the left of the property. It was a good stay, but those details stood out and could have been fixed prior to our stay.”

“We visited Ellijay to celebrate my wife's birthday with friends. The cabin was perfect for our party of 10. We enjoyed the firepit by the river and the beautiful decor inside. We plan to return!”
