Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals

“The home was beautiful, nice view and very peaceful, what I didn’t like was the dog hair all over the place, I misplaced my phone, I looked in between the couch cushions and boy Ol boy you could tell that they haven’t been cleaned in a while, I was very disappointed after pulling the couch cushions out it was very dirty had game pieces, Monopoly money and either dog feces or old chocolate either way it shouldn’t have been there.”

“The property management company had us complete an application with all guest names; however, they didn’t share the guest names with the front gate so we had difficulty accessing the property. They didn’t respond to our messages in the app when we told them we were having access issues. They have also used our email address for marketing their other properties without our permission.”

“Beautiful place but not much was kept up on the amenities, gas stove wouldn’t light and water leak as well as directions weren’t good. We paid for a cabin that we couldn’t even enjoy what we paid for”

“The entire place was beautiful inside and out. The bed was very comfortable and we really loved using the hot tub whenever we wanted. The outside areas could have been a bit cleaner. We had to wipe down railings and seats to use them, leaving us without enough towels. Seating is a bit lacking as well. Although beautiful, everything was a bit awkwardly uncomfortable besides the bed.”

“Would not recommend! The house wasn’t clean at all! All the beds had hair and stains on sheets/pillows. Beds super uncomfortable. The drinking cups were dirty. Broken blender. Rusty knifes. Spiders in the downstairs bathroom. Personal items in the dressers/closets in the bedrooms. Water damage in the basement/moldy table. Was informed of a mandatory rental agreement the day of check-in. Was not informed of the rule of not being able to bring a trailer into the neighborhood until arrival. Overall bad experience! There is no personal connection to the owner of the house, it is operated by a rental company with super strict rules! Not worth the money you pay. We arrived late at night and had a dirty bed to sleep in. Not even a trash can to dispose of my trash!!!”

“The cabin was BEAUTIFUL! Great location, peaceful, and quiet. Everything was clean. The downside... I never recieved the code to the door, so I sat outside for 20 minutes trying to get a hold of customer service through the app and on the phone to get the code. The outdoor fireplace was disconnected, so I called them to fix it. They never called or sent a message saying when maintenance would arrive. well at 10:30 pm, the maintenance guy just walks in while I was not decent. no knocking or verbal warning. Just walked in. very unprofessional and invasive. Then, there was a fire pit that was advertised along with both fireplaces. When I called about it, they informed me of a burn ban. I should have been notified of that when it went into effect, because the only one im aware of is the one that starts May 1st. All in all, I was happy with the location and the cabin. Not happy at all with the lack of communication on Southern Comfort's part. Probably won't be staying with them again.”

“Neighborhood was great and the scenery was beautiful, however the house was NOT cleaned or prepared for our arrival AT ALL! Very disappointed! Grease all over the kitchen counters and stovetop, hair all over the floor, dirty bed sheets!! We literally went to the store and bought cleaning supplies to clean just so we felt comfortable!”

“The worst AirBNB experience I’ve ever had. I received texts daily with the same information. I sent my photo ID four times. When I suggested canceling the trip after exhausting, useless, repetitive messages, I finally received the document needed to move forward. When I arrived at location, I waited for over an hour for a message on how to get in. Lodging was not as expected… very small, hole in the shower wall, no ice.”

“I chose this rental for my weekend because I knew there was a restaurant in the gated community, which was a deal maker for my plnas. No one at the rental agency would help me find the number for the restaurant. I contacted them 3 times. Disappointing. The rental unit itself was lovely- as advertised, clean & well-appointed.”

“Check in was at 4. They called and said the cleaning lady was running about an hour behind. We arrived at 5:25 and she was still there. We were finally able to go inside at 6. She left all of the towels on the kitchen table so we had to put them away. The dishwasher was still full and a glass had broken inside of it. The hot tub was 70 degrees and unusable our first night. Neither the sink light, or light under the microwave work so it was either the large overhead light or nothing. The cabin itself was great. The kids had a great time playing pool and using the hot tub our second day. Unfortunately the issues in the beginning overshadowed what could have been a great experience for me.”
